    Of all the most prominent business concepts (e.g., DE&I, employee well-being, employee engagement, organizational culture, etc.) none rivals leadership in terms of public interest and annual monetary investment. Despite the obvious importance of leadership as a determinant of many important outcomes, the concept of leadership has been surprisingly hard to pin down, lacking consensus as to its precise meaning. As numerous authors introduce ever more constructs (e.g., servant leadership, toxic leadership, sustainable leadership, transformational leadership, etc.), the leadership concept has become emblematic of the problem of construct proliferation. Like the related fields of employee engagement, subjective well-being, and organizational culture, the leadership field is in desperate need of a clearly articulated meta-theory to house its many constructs, allowing theory and measurement to build up instead of continuing to pile up. This paper argues for grounding the concept of leadership within the psychological literature on human needs. In reviewing the leading definitions of leadership in the literature we find that they are reducible to a core set of follower needs that can be facilitated or inhibited by leaders. We propose that there is substantial value in adopting a comprehensive needs-based taxonomy over current approaches. We consider the impact of setting the concepts of leadership within existing need constructs for each of the following: (a) theory, especially the development of leadership frameworks and particularly how the concept of leadership relates to the concepts of organizational culture, employee well-being, and employee engagement; (b) methods, including the value of applying a comprehensive, structured model; and (c) practice, where we emphasize the practical advantages of clear operational definitions.

    The purpose of the present study was to relate a principal\'s qualifications with a school\'s emphasis on academic success. Participants were n = 206 principals of respective schools in Saudi Arabia that took part in the study as a function of the TIMSS-2019 assessment. Principals were administered the eleven-item \"School Emphasis on Academic Success\" scale. A binary covariate defining low and high principal qualifications was computed. The Multiple Indicators Multiple Causes (MIMIC) model was involved with the latent means of both a general and three specific factors being regressed on the covariate to evaluate latent mean differences across differentially qualified principals. Furthermore, each one of the instrument\'s indicators was regressed on the principal covariate to evaluate the presence of Differential Item Functioning (DIF) or in other words additional effects due to item content. Results indicated a significant omnibus effect for the general factor only, with highly qualified principals holding significantly more positive beliefs about how parents, teachers, and students feel about their school\'s emphasis on academic success. Further analyses at the item level indicated that \"teacher expectations\" were the single item presenting a DIF effect with highly qualified principals having stronger beliefs about their teacher\'s expectations of student success over and above the latent factor mean. Results are discussed on how they inform educational policy and practice.

    In Chinese kindergartens under a collectivist culture, leadership has a profound and complex impact on both the organization and teacher autonomy. This study explores the link between transformational leadership and teacher autonomy and the roles played by organizational climate and teacher empowerment in this relationship. Kindergartens teachers (n = 1593) were randomly selected in China to complete the transformational leadership scale, teacher autonomy scale, teacher empowerment scale and organizational climate scale, with a cross-sectional design and moderated mediation model using latent variables. The results were as follows: (1) transformational leadership can predict the level of teacher autonomy; (2) organizational climate plays a part of mediating role between transformational leadership and teacher autonomy; (3) as levels of teacher empowerment increase, the positive association between transformational leadership and organizational climate becomes stronger, while the positive association between organizational climate on teacher autonomy weakens.

    UNASSIGNED: In the new era of higher education focusing on \"double first-class\" development, private universities in China face significant opportunities and challenges. The success of these institutions is closely linked to effective leadership, particularly transformational leadership, which is known to inspire and motivate employees toward extraordinary achievements. This study explores the existence and impact of transformational leadership on teachers\' work performance in Chinese private universities. It aims to fill a research gap regarding the role of transformational leadership in a resource-constrained environment and provide practical insights for enhancing teachers\' work performance, thereby contributing to the rapid development of private universities and the realization of \"double first-class\" goals.
    UNASSIGNED: This study employed an input-process-output approach, combining qualitative data from face-to-face interviews with 12 leaders at Guangdong University of Science and Technology and quantitative data from an electronic survey of 392 university teachers. Data were analyzed using SPSS26.0, AMOS24.0, and NVIVO14, including exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses, common method bias assessment, and correlation analysis. Structural equation modeling with AMOS24.0 was used to explore the relationship between transformational leadership and teachers\' work performance, evaluating the impact of each transformational leadership dimension.
    UNASSIGNED: The study findings demonstrated that transformational leadership styles are being employed in Chinese private universities, albeit not extensively, with moderate effects on teachers\' work performance. The research identified organizational vision, intellectual stimulation, and personal recognition as significant drivers of enhanced performance among faculty members. Nevertheless, the study did not confirm the impact of supportive leadership, inspiring communication, and moral modeling within the context of Chinese private universities.

    BACKGROUND: Several studies have examined the impact of leadership on employee well-being and health. However, this research has focused on a variable-centred approach. By contrast, the present study adopts a person-centred approach.
    OBJECTIVE: To (a) identify latent \'resources\' profiles among two samples combining vigour at work, work engagement and physical activity levels; (b) examine the link between the identified profiles and indicators of psychological/physical health; and (c) test whether different levels of transformational leadership determine the probability of belonging to a particular profile.
    METHODS: Two samples of workers, S1 and S2 (NS1 = 354; NS2 = 158), completed a cross-sectional survey before their annual medical examination.
    RESULTS: For S1, the results of latent profile analysis yielded three profiles: spiritless, spirited and high-spirited. Both high-spirited and spirited profiles showed a positive relationship with mental health, whereas spiritless showed a negative relationship. For S2, two profiles (spirited and spiritless) were replicated, with similar effects on mental health, but none of them was related to total cholesterol. In both samples, transformational leadership determined the probability of belonging to a particular profile.
    CONCLUSIONS: Transformational leadership increased the probability of belonging to a more positive profile and, therefore, to better workers\' health.

    Description Burnout is a complex organizational phenomenon that diminishes employee well-being and overall organizational productivity. Researchers propose that leadership style contributes to employees\' well-being, which impacts employee productivity. Organizations and leaders must address the causes of burnout and promote techniques employees can use to mitigate burnout, such as employee participation in recovery experiences. Recovery experiences are non-work activities that create positive outlooks and restore the energy needed to focus on one\'s work. This literature review examines current research in employee recovery experiences, conservation of resource theory (COR), burnout, and transformational leadership theory. Studying burnout through the lens of COR shows how important resource gain and recovery activities are to healthy employees and their job performance within the organization. The research reviewed suggests that transformational and transactional leadership styles have higher probabilities of promoting employee participation in recovery experiences than passive avoidant leadership style. The literature consistently showed burnout as a significant organizational phenomenon negatively affecting productivity, employee well-being, and turnover rates. The literature revealed that mitigating burnout happens through participation in recovery experiences. The literature on leadership styles supports the assumption that leaders play a significant role in employee well-being, group identity, and organizational climate. Leaders who desire to mitigate employee burnout will benefit from research that links transformational leadership style behaviors and employee participation in recovery activities.

    In light of the ongoing global health crisis, the significance of leadership within the healthcare sector has intensified. Given this consideration, the significance of appropriate leadership styles cannot be overstated. The objective of this paper is to critically review published studies on leadership elements in the healthcare sector. Using Bibliometrix R package and VOS viewer, we conducted bibliometric and network analyses on publications retrieved from the Web of Science (WOS) database, with content analysis integrated throughout the paper to deepen understanding. Ultimately, 243 articles were identified as relevant. The findings revealed transformational leadership emerges as the most extensively discussed leadership style. 91% of the articles\' theme focus on quantitative research methods. This study synthesizes the influencing factors of the three most frequently discussed leadership styles-transformational, authentic, and ethical leadership-emphasizing the importance of job satisfaction and organizational citizenship behavior. And provides direction for future research through thematic analysis.

    In nephrology nursing, effective leadership ensures optimal patient care and cohesive teamwork. Despite this, nurses often overlook their leadership potential, leading to underrepresentation in health care leadership roles. This article explores the significance of nursing leadership in nephrology care and delves into the principles of transformational leadership as a fitting approach. Transformational leadership emphasizes inspiring and motivating teams toward shared goals, fostering innovation, and individualized consideration. Each aspect of transformational leadership is discussed, including how it can be applied to nephrology nursing leaders, emphasizing their role in shaping organizational culture, promoting home modalities, and fostering professional development. By embracing transformational leadership, nephrology nursing can enhance patient outcomes, address workforce challenges, and cultivate a new generation of influential leaders. This article advocates for adopting transformational leadership to meet the evolving needs of nephrology care and supporting the professional growth of nephrology nurses in leadership roles.

Safety practices among nurses are essential to maintain patient safety, especially the practices of medication administration, handover, patient falls and unplanned extubations prevention.

    UNASSIGNED: The data in this cross-sectional study were gathered from a survey targeted clinical nurses using a random sampling technique. The study was conducted in a medical city in Saudi Arabia, and two hundred nurses were surveyed. The Multifactor Leadership, Hospital Survey on Patient Safety Culture, and Nursing Safety Practice questionnaires were used in the study.
    UNASSIGNED: The results revealed significant positive associations between transformational leadership, patient safety culture, and nursing safety practices. Moreover, patient safety culture mediates the association between transformational leadership and safety practices among nurses.
    UNASSIGNED: Enhancing transformational leadership capabilities among nurse managers should be considered in order to improve nursing safety practices. Additionally, patient safety culture should be measured and improved periodically to ensure better nursing safety practices.
