    OBJECTIVE: To describe the perceptions of telehealth services among lung cancer patients in rural areas of China, as well as to explore the potential of telemedicine to improve long-term health recovery at home for rural lung cancer patients.
    METHODS: A qualitative descriptive study design was used in this study and we conducted semi-structured interviews with 14 rural Chinese lung cancer patients between December 2022 and March 2023. Interview content was analyzed using Nvivo software and a framework analysis was performed using the Technology Acceptance Model to identify meaningful themes.
    RESULTS: Participants identified perceptual and technical factors related to perceived ease of use, benefits and drawbacks related to perceived usefulness, and facilitators and barriers related to intention to use. However, regional and disease features including literacy barriers, medical insurance condition, symptom burden, and rural cultural health seeking behavior conduct must be taken into account.
    CONCLUSIONS: Lung cancer patients in rural China believe that telehealth services could be an alternative solution for addressing health and care needs, but various aspects, such as user interface design, cost-effectiveness, and technological anxiety, need to be optimized.
    CONCLUSIONS: More highly specialized nursing team, friendly telecare lung function modules, and media technology training courses should be developed for rural lung cancer patients to enhance the quality of their home care, meet their information needs and better control their disease progression.

    This study investigates the acceptance of large language models (LLMs) among older adults using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). The research, conducted through a cross-sectional survey, explores the influence of perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness on intension to use among older adults. The results show that the subjective norm, image, job relevance, output quality, result demonstrability, perceived ease of use have a significant positive and direct impact on perceived usefulness (β=0.138, 0.240, 0.213, 0.280, 0.181, 0.176, P<0.05). Perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness have a significant positive and direct impact on Intension to use (β=0.335, 0.307, P<0.05). The study\'s practical implications highlight the need for tailored chatbots, offering valuable insights for developers and policymakers aiming to enhance the integration of innovative technologies among older populations.

    Introduction: The outbreak of the novel coronavirus disease-19 posed significant challenges globally, impacting various sectors and health care systems profoundly. In response, telemedicine has emerged as a vital solution to address health care demands and resource shortages. However, there is a lack of comprehensive research on telemedicine usage among health care consumers in urban and rural areas of Taiwan. Methods: This study aimed to investigate the usage, attitudes, and intentions of telemedicine utilization among health care consumers in Taiwan, integrating the Technology Acceptance Model and Theory of Planned Behavior. A cross-sectional study was conducted from April 2023 to May 2024, involving 1,053 participants who utilized telemedicine services. Structured questionnaires were used for data collection, and statistical analyses were performed using SPSS 21.0 software. Results: The results revealed significant disparities in telemedicine utilization between urban and rural areas, with urban residents exhibiting higher levels of perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, attitude toward use, trust, and intention to use telemedicine. Regression analysis indicated a significant association between urban residence and male gender with telemedicine utilization, contrary to previous research findings. These disparities may stem from differences in health care accessibility and cultural norms prevalent in urban and rural areas. Conclusions: Further investigation into gender differences and interventions to promote telemedicine usage among females, particularly in urban areas, are recommended. This study provides valuable insights for future research and health care policy formulation.

    UNASSIGNED: Forensic psychiatric patients receive treatment to address their violent and aggressive behavior with the aim of facilitating their safe reintegration into society. On average, these treatments are effective, but the magnitude of effect sizes tends to be small, even when considering more recent advancements in digital mental health innovations. Recent research indicates that wearable technology has positive effects on the physical and mental health of the general population, and may thus also be of use in forensic psychiatry, both for patients and staff members. Several applications and use cases of wearable technology hold promise, particularly for patients with mild intellectual disability or borderline intellectual functioning, as these devices are thought to be user-friendly and provide continuous daily feedback.
    UNASSIGNED: In the current randomized crossover trial, we addressed several limitations from previous research and compared the (continuous) usability and acceptance of four selected wearable devices. Each device was worn for one week by staff members and patients, amounting to a total of four weeks. Two of the devices were general purpose fitness trackers, while the other two devices used custom made applications designed for bio-cueing and for providing insights into physiological reactivity to daily stressors and events.
    UNASSIGNED: Our findings indicated significant differences in usability, acceptance and continuous use between devices. The highest usability scores were obtained for the two fitness trackers (Fitbit and Garmin) compared to the two devices employing custom made applications (Sense-IT and E4 dashboard). The results showed similar outcomes for patients and staff members.
    UNASSIGNED: None of the devices obtained usability scores that would justify recommendation for future use considering international standards; a finding that raises concerns about the adaptation and uptake of wearable technology in the context of forensic psychiatry. We suggest that improvements in gamification and motivational aspects of wearable technology might be helpful to tackle several challenges related to wearable technology.

    BACKGROUND: Improving shared decision-making using a treat-to-target approach, including the use of clinical outcome measures, is important to providing high quality care for rheumatoid arthritis (RA). We developed an Electronic Health Record (EHR) integrated, patient-facing sidecar dashboard application that displays RA outcomes, medications, and lab results for use during clinical visits (\"RA PRO dashboard\"). The purpose of this study was to assess clinician perceptions and experiences using the dashboard in a university rheumatology clinic.
    METHODS: We conducted focus group (FG) discussions with clinicians who had access to the dashboard as part of a randomized, stepped-wedge pragmatic trial. FGs explored clinician perceptions towards the usability, acceptability, and usefulness of the dashboard. FG data were analyzed thematically using deductive and inductive techniques; generated themes were categorized into the domains of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM).
    RESULTS: 3 FG discussions were conducted with a total of 13 clinicians. Overall, clinicians were enthusiastic about the dashboard and expressed the usefulness of visualizing RA outcome trajectories in a graphical format for motivating patients, enhancing patient understanding of their RA outcomes, and improving communication about medications. Major themes that emerged from the FG analysis as barriers to using the dashboard included inconsistent collection of RA outcomes leading to sparse data in the dashboard and concerns about explaining RA outcomes, especially to patients with fibromyalgia. Other challenges included time constraints and technical difficulties refreshing the dashboard to display real-time data. Methods for integrating the dashboard into the visit varied: some clinicians used the dashboard at the beginning of the visit as they documented RA outcomes; others used it at the end to justify changes to therapy; and a few shared it only with stable patients.
    CONCLUSIONS: The study provides valuable insights into clinicians\' perceptions and experiences with the RA PRO dashboard. The dashboard showed promise in enhancing patient-clinician communication, shared decision-making, and overall acceptance among clinicians. Addressing challenges related to data collection, education, and tailoring dashboard use to specific patient populations will be crucial for maximizing its potential impact on RA care. Further research and ongoing improvements in dashboard design and implementation are warranted to ensure its successful integration into routine clinical practice.

    BACKGROUND: In the wake of challenges brought by the COVID-19 pandemic to conventional medical education, the demand for innovative teaching methods has surged. Nurse training, with its focus on hands-on practice and self-directed learning, encountered significant hurdles with conventional approaches. Augmented reality (AR) offers a potential solution to addressing this issue.
    OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to develop, introduce, and evaluate an AR-based educational program designed for nurses, focusing on its potential to facilitate hands-on practice and self-directed learning.
    METHODS: An AR-based educational program for nursing was developed anchored by the Kern six-step framework. First, we identified challenges in conventional teaching methods through interviews and literature reviews. Interviews highlighted the need for hands-on practice and on-site self-directed learning with feedback from a remote site. The training goals of the platform were established by expert trainers and researchers, focusing on the utilization of a ventilator and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation system. Intensive care nurses were enrolled to evaluate AR education. We then assessed usability and acceptability of the AR training using the System Usability Scale and Technology Acceptance Model with intensive care nurses who agreed to test the new platform. Additionally, selected participants provided deeper insights through semistructured interviews.
    RESULTS: This study highlights feasibility and key considerations for implementing an AR-based educational program for intensive care unit nurses, focusing on training objectives of the platform. Implemented over 2 months using Microsoft Dynamics 365 Guides and HoloLens 2, 28 participants were trained. Feedback gathered through interviews with the trainers and trainees indicated a positive reception. In particular, the trainees mentioned finding AR particularly useful for hands-on learning, appreciating its realism and the ability for repetitive practice. However, some challenges such as difficulty in adapting to the new technology were expressed. Overall, AR exhibits potential as a supplementary tool in nurse education.
    CONCLUSIONS: To our knowledge, this is the first study to substitute conventional methods with AR in this specific area of critical care nursing. These results indicate the multiple principal factors to take into consideration when adopting AR education in hospitals. AR is effective in promoting self-directed learning and hands-on practice, with participants displaying active engagement and enhanced skill acquisition.

    BACKGROUND: A partograph is a pictorial representation of the relationship between cervical dilatation and the time used to diagnose prolonged and obstructed labor. However, the utilization of paper-based partograph is low and it is prone to documentation errors, which can be avoided with the use of electronic partographs. There is only limited information on the proportion of intention to use mobile-based partographs and its predictors.
    OBJECTIVE: The objective of this study was to determine the proportion of obstetric health care providers at public referral hospitals in Oromia, Ethiopia, in 2022 who had the intention to use mobile-based partographs and to determine the predictors of their intention to use mobile-based partographs.
    METHODS: We performed an institution-based cross-sectional study from June 1 to July 1, 2022. Census was conducted on 649 participants. A self-administered structured English questionnaire was used, and a 5% pretest was performed. Data were entered into EpiData version 4.6 and exported to SPSS version 25 for descriptive analysis and AMOS (analysis of moment structure; version 23) for structural and measurement model assessment. Descriptive and structural equation modeling analyses were performed. The hypotheses developed based on a modified Technology Acceptance Model were tested using path coefficients and P values <.05.
    RESULTS: About 65.7% (414/630; 95% CI 61.9%-69.4%) of the participants intended to use mobile-based electronic partographs, with a 97% (630/649) response rate. Perceived usefulness had a positive influence on intention to use (β=.184; P=.02) and attitude (β=.521; P=.002). Perceived ease of use had a positive influence on attitude (β=.382; P=.003), perceived usefulness (β=.503; P=.002), and intention to use (β=.369; P=.001). Job relevance had a positive influence on perceived usefulness (β=.408; P=.001) and intention to use (β=.185; P=.008). Attitude positively influenced intention to use (β=.309; P=.002). Subjective norms did not have a significant influence on perceived usefulness (β=.020; P=.61) and intention to use (β=-.066; P=.07).
    CONCLUSIONS: Two-thirds of the obstetric health care providers in our study intended to use mobile-based partographs. Perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, job relevance, and attitude positively and significantly influenced their intention to use mobile-based electronic partographs. The development of a user-friendly mobile-based partograph that meets job and user expectations can enhance the intention to use.

    To explore the factors affecting the use of artificial intelligence generated content (AIGC) by subject librarians through understanding their perceptions of AIGC. Interpretive phenomenological analysis (IPA) and technology acceptance model (TAM) were used in semi-structured interviews to explore the external variables of perceived ease of use and perceived usability of AIGC application in subject librarians. The perceptions of subject librarians towards AIGC included performance, risk perceptions, ability enhancement, and affective attitude. Attentions were paid to AIGC\'s performances in providing customized services, optimizing collection resources and improving cost efficiency. The risk perception involved technical stability, data security, user acceptance and occupational risk, the ability enhancement involved the improvement of personal literacy, innovative ability, and self-confidence through the use of AIGC technology, and the affective attitudes included not only excitement and anticipation for the technical potential of AIGC, but also concerns and skepticism about it, and critical attitudes toward its application in academic settings and the ethical issues it may raise. TAM analysis on the factors affecting the use of AIGC by subject librarians indicates that the external influencing factors of perceived ease of use include personal literacy, innovative ability, self-confidence enhancement and affective attitude; the external influencing factors of perceived usability include precise service, collection resource optimization, cost-effectiveness, technological risk, user acceptance and occupational risk. These factors constitute a theoretical framework for understanding and promoting the acceptance and effective use of AIGC by subject librarians. TAM analysis combined with IPA exploration on the external variables of perceived ease of use and perceived usability of AIGC application can identify the key factors affecting subject librarians\' perceptions of AIGC, propose strategies for optimizing librarians\' roles, enhancing information recognition ability and privacy protection, thus providing guidance for effective use of AIGC in library.

    This mixed-method study explores the acceptance of ChatGPT as a tool for Metacognitive Self-Regulated Learning (MSRL) among academics. Despite the growing attention towards ChatGPT as a metacognitive learning tool, there is a need for a comprehensive understanding of the factors influencing its acceptance in academic settings. Engaging 300 preservice teachers through a ChatGPT-based scenario learning activity and utilizing convenience sampling, this study administered a questionnaire based on the proposed Technology Acceptance Model at UTM University\'s School of Education. Structural equation modelling was applied to analyze participants\' perspectives on ChatGPT, considering factors like MSRL\'s impact on usage intention. Post-reflection sessions, semi-structured interviews, and record analysis were conducted to gather results. Findings indicate a high acceptance of ChatGPT, significantly influenced by personal competency, social influence, perceived AI usefulness, enjoyment, trust, AI intelligence, positive attitude, and metacognitive self-regulated learning. Interviews and record analysis suggest that academics view ChatGPT positively as an educational tool, seeing it as a solution to challenges in teaching and learning processes. The study highlights ChatGPT\'s potential to enhance MSRL and holds implications for teacher education and AI integration in educational settings.

    BACKGROUND: Low back pain (LBP) is a costly global health condition that affects individuals of all ages and genders. Physical therapy (PT) is a commonly used and effective intervention for the management of LBP and incorporates movement assessment and therapeutic exercise. A newly developed wearable, fabric-based sensor system, Motion Tape, uses novel sensing and data modeling to measure lumbar spine movements unobtrusively and thus offers potential benefits when used in conjunction with PT. However, physical therapists\' acceptance of Motion Tape remains unexplored.
    OBJECTIVE: The primary aim of this research study was to evaluate physical therapists\' acceptance of Motion Tape to be used for the management of LBP. The secondary aim was to explore physical therapists\' recommendations for future device development.
    METHODS: Licensed physical therapists from the American Physical Therapy Association Academy of Leadership Technology Special Interest Group participated in this study. Overall, 2 focus groups (FGs; N=8) were conducted, in which participants were presented with Motion Tape samples and examples of app data output on a poster. Informed by the Technology Acceptance Model, we conducted semistructured FGs and explored the wearability, usefulness, and ease of use of and suggestions for improvements in Motion Tape for PT management of LBP. FG data were transcribed and analyzed using rapid qualitative analysis.
    RESULTS: Regarding wearability, participants perceived that Motion Tape would be able to adhere for several days, with some variability owing to external factors. Feedback was positive for the low-profile and universal fit, but discomfort owing to wires and potential friction with clothing was of concern. Other concerns included difficulty with self-application and potential skin sensitivity. Regarding usefulness, participants expressed that Motion Tape would enhance the efficiency and specificity of assessments and treatment. Regarding ease of use, participants stated that the app would be easy, but data management and challenges with interpretation were of concern. Physical therapists provided several recommendations for future design improvements including having a wireless system or removable wires, customizable sizes for the tape, and output including range of motion data and summary graphs and adding app features that consider patient input and context.
    CONCLUSIONS: Several themes related to Motion Tape\'s wearability, usefulness, and ease of use were identified. Overall, physical therapists expressed acceptance of Motion Tape\'s potential for assessing and monitoring low back posture and movement, both within and outside clinical settings. Participants expressed that Motion Tape would be a valuable tool for the personalized treatment of LBP but highlighted several future improvements needed for Motion Tape to be used in practice.
