    This narrative review examined the intersection of generative artificial intelligence (GAI) and the personalization of health professional education (PHE). This review aims to the elucidate the current condition of GAI technologies and their particular uses in the field of PHE. Data were extracted and analyzed from studies focusing on the demographics and professional development preferences of healthcare workers, the competencies required for personalized precision medicine, and the current and potential applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in PHE. The review also addressed the ethical implications of AI implementation in this context. Findings indicated a gender-balanced healthcare workforce with a predisposition toward continuous professional development and digital tool utilization. A need for a comprehensive educational framework was identified to include a spectrum of skills crucial for precision medicine, emphasizing the importance of patient involvement and bioethics. AI was found to enhance educational experiences and research in PHE, with an increasing trend in AI applications, particularly in surgical education since 2018. Ethical challenges associated with AI integration in PHE were highlighted, with an emphasis on the need for ethical design and diverse development teams. Core concepts in AI research were established, with a spotlight on emerging areas such as data science and learning analytics. The application of AI in PHE was recognized for its current benefits and potential for future advancements, with a call for ethical vigilance. GAI holds significant promise for personalizing PHE, with an identified need for ethical frameworks and diverse developer teams to address bias and equity in educational AI applications.

    This article describes a post-fellowship preceptorship training program to train sub-specialty colorectal surgeons in gaining proficiency in robotic colorectal surgery using a dual-surgeon model in the Australian private sector. The Australian colorectal surgeon faces challenges in gaining robotic colorectal surgery proficiency with limited exposure and experience in the public setting where the majority of general and colorectal surgery training is currently conducted. This training model uses graded exposure with a range of simulation training, wet lab training, and clinical operative cases to progress through both competency and proficiency in robotic colorectal surgery which is mutually beneficial to surgeons and patients alike. Ongoing audit of practice has shown no adverse impacts.

    The article presents a detailed analysis of the stages of formation, development and achievements of the forensic medicine department of the Russian Medical Academy of Continuing Professional Education of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, established in 1933 yr. More than 100 resident doctors and 15 PhD students have been trained in the department for 90 years. As a part of additional professional education implementation, more than 800 cycles of training courses for forensic medical and forensic experts and more than 30 cycles of professional retraining for doctors of other specialties have been carried out. More than 160 thous. specialists have been trained at the department since its establishment. Many employees of the department were directly involved in the performance of the most complicated and socially significant forensic medical examinations. The article describes the main achievements and scientific directions of the department\'s staff activity, directions and prospects of improving the training of forensic medical personnel in the country.
    В статье приведен подробный анализ этапов становления, развития и достижений образованной в 1933 г. кафедры судебной медицины Российской медицинской академии непрерывного профессионального образования Минздрава России. За 90 лет на кафедре были подготовлены более 100 клинических ординаторов и 15 аспирантов. В рамках осуществления дополнительного профессионального образования проведено более 800 циклов повышения квалификации для судебно-медицинских и судебных экспертов, более 30 циклов профессиональной переподготовки для врачей других специальностей. С момента образования кафедры на ней прошли обучение более 160 тыс. специалистов. Многие сотрудники кафедры принимали непосредственное участие в выполнении наиболее сложных и социально значимых судебно-медицинских экспертиз. В статье представлены основные достижения и научные направления деятельности сотрудников кафедры, направления и перспективы совершенствования подготовки судебно-медицинских кадров в стране.

    Background The present study is the foundational project of TeachABI-Australia , which aims to develop and implement an accessible, nation-wide digital resource for educators to address their unmet acquired brain injury (ABI)-related professional learning needs. The aim of the present study was to identify the adaptations required to improve the suitability and acceptability of the TeachABI professional development module within the Australian education system from the perspectives of Australian educators. Methods The research design employed an integrated knowledge translation approach and followed the ADAPT Guidance for undertaking adaptability research. A purposive sample of eight educators eligible to teach primary school in Australia provided feedback on the module through a quantitative post-module feedback questionnaire and a qualitative semi-structured interview. Results Participants rated the acceptability of the module as \'Completely Acceptable \' (Mdn  = 5, IQR = 1), and reported \'only Minor\' changes were required (Mdn  = 2, IQR = 0.25) to improve the suitability to the Australian context. Qualitative analysis of transcripts revealed three broad categories: (1) the usefulness of TeachABI , (2) the local fit of TeachABI , and (3) pathways for implementing TeachABI in the local setting. Recommended adaptations to the module collated from participant feedback included changes to language, expansion of content, and inclusion of Australian resources, legislation, and videos. Conclusions TeachABI is acceptable to Australian educators but requires modifications to tailor the resource to align with the unique schooling systems, needs, and culture of the local setting. The systematic methodological approach to adaptation outlined in this study will serve as a guide for future international iterations of TeachABI .

    BACKGROUND: Physical therapy professional education program directors (PDs) face stress associated with work roles and responsibilities, which can cause burnout and job turnover.
    METHODS: Burnout and turnover in physical therapy education PD positions are influenced by inexperience, insufficient compensation, decreased support, heavy workloads, difficulty hiring and retaining faculty, and internal conflict. Program directors also receive insufficient training in their roles. Individuals with greater resilience, or the ability to face adversity with positive outcomes, may be more resistant to stress, burnout, and turnover. Therefore, this study\'s purpose was to explore the relationships among leadership behaviors, demographic and program factors, and resilience in physical therapy PDs.
    METHODS: Of the 600 physical therapy PDs invited to participate in the study, 126 directors completed the survey (21% response rate).
    METHODS: The survey included demographic questions, the Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ-5X), and the 10-item Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC-10). Correlational analyses were used to investigate relationships among leadership behaviors, demographic and program factors, and resilience.
    RESULTS: Participants included 43 physical therapist and 82 physical therapist assistant PDs (79.4% female and 20.6% male participants; mean age, 52.0 ± 8.3 years; mean years in role, 7.3 ± 6.9 years). Mean MLQ-5X scores showed that participants primarily used transformational leadership (TFL) behaviors. The mean CD-RISC-10 score for participants was 33.06 (±4.10). Analysis revealed statistically significant positive relationships between all TFL behaviors and resilience. Exploratory regression analysis revealed that 3 leadership behaviors and one demographic factor may contribute to resilience in participants, although the proportion of variance was modest (39%).
    CONCLUSIONS: This is the first study to offer insight regarding the relationships between leadership behaviors and resilience in physical therapy PDs. These results may help lay the foundation for future research in this area, with the goal of decreasing burnout and job turnover through increased resilience.

    UNASSIGNED: This scoping review aimed to examine 1) types of inter-professional (IPE) interventions using Strosahl\'s typology framework, 2) practice outcomes related to healthcare setting and patients using Kirkpatrick\'s model of training evaluation, and 3) enablers and challenges related to the effectiveness of IPE interventions specific to the mental healthcare setting in order to guide the development of such future programs.
    UNASSIGNED: This scoping review was conducted in accordance with the methodology of the Joanna Briggs Institute for scoping reviews. Several databases were searched for relevant studies from database inception until December 2023. Articles were included if it 1) involved IPE interventions within mental healthcare, 2) reported practice outcomes related to healthcare setting and patients, and 3) was published in English. Variables of interest included the mode of IPE intervention using Strosahl\'s typology, enablers, and challenges related to IPE interventions.
    UNASSIGNED: Overall, 16 studies were included. IPE intervention outcomes within healthcare setting related to shifts in practice culture, engagement with family members, and increased collaborations with other inter-professional groups. Reported patient outcomes included clinical improvements (e.g., reduced depression and anxiety, psychotropic drug use, better psychosocial functioning), patient empowerment, satisfaction, and confidence in treatment. The enablers and challenges included resource limitations, inter-professional group and individual participation, and pedagogy.
    UNASSIGNED: Future efforts in IPE mental healthcare practice can focus on garnering sustained institutional support, identifying and investing in committed faculty, encouraging greater learner participation, and making iterative changes to the IPE program structure to facilitate involvement of inter-professional disciplines for better patient care.
