    With the rapid development of digital techniques and the lack of reference standards for chairside computer aided design and computer aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) operation and application, it is imperative to draft guidelines for chairside CAD/CAM restoration techniques for all ceramics. Therefore, the Society of Prosthodontics, Chinese Stomatological Association recruited experts to compose a recommended application guideline based on the relevant literatures and clinical experiences, including the selection of indications, tooth preparation, optical impression making and other key steps. This guideline is aimed at providing a standardized operation procedure to improve the quality and long-term success rate of chairside CAD/CAM rehabilitation for all ceramics.
    数字化技术发展迅速,但椅旁计算机辅助设计与辅助制作(computer aided design and computer aided manufacturing,CAD/CAM)技术的操作和应用缺乏参考标准,制订椅旁CAD/CAM全瓷修复技术指南势在必行。因此,中华口腔医学会口腔修复学专业委员会在广泛征求意见的基础上,结合临床经验和相关文献撰写此推荐性应用指南,内容包括适应证的选择、牙体的预备、光学印模的制取等关键步骤。本指南旨在通过推荐椅旁CAD/CAM全瓷修复技术的标准操作流程,提高椅旁CAD/CAM全瓷修复的质量和长期成功率。.

    In recent years, porcelain veneer restoration has been widely carried out in clinical practice. In order to standardize the clinical behavior, Chinese Society of Esthetic Dentistry organized experts in relevant fields to formulate an expert consensus on porcelain veneer technology in oral esthetic restoration. The consensus described in detail the material selection, clinical indications, tooth preparation requirements and bonding process of porcelain veneer restoration. It puts forward expert suggestions on how to obtain the strong and durable porcelain veneer restoration effect, prevent complications, and provide patients with comfortable diagnosis and treatment experience. At the same time, in order to provide reference for making successful porcelain veneer restoration in line with the connotation of oral esthetics, Chinese Society of Esthetic Dentistry put forward with its own characteristics the concept of taking esthetic design as the guidance, emphasizing the combination of local and overall esthetics, and carrying out multi-disciplinary porcelain veneer restoration.
    近年,瓷贴面修复技术已在临床广泛开展,为规范临床行为,中华口腔医学会口腔美学专业委员会组织相关领域专家制订口腔美学修复中瓷贴面技术专家共识,详细阐述瓷贴面修复治疗中的材料选择、临床适应证、牙体预备要求和瓷贴面粘接流程等内容;对如何获得坚固耐用的瓷贴面修复效果,预防修复后并发症以及如何为患者提供舒适的诊疗体验等提出专家建议;并结合口腔美学专业特色提出以美学设计为导向,强调局部与整体美学结合,联合多学科进行瓷贴面修复的理念,为制作符合口腔美学内涵的成功瓷贴面修复体提供参考。.

    All-ceramic materials have become the most commonly used dental esthetic restorative material in clinic due to their excellent esthetic and mechanical properties and biocompatibility. However, there are still many confusions about the clinical application of all-ceramic materials. Society of Esthetic Dentistry in conjunction with Society of Dental Material Science, Chinese Stomatological Association organized multidisciplinary experts in prosthodontics, dental materials, implantology and dental esthetics to develop a consensus on the clinical application of all-ceramic esthetic restorative materials. The expert consensus covers such aspects of all-ceramic materials as the classification, major properties, selection of clinical indications and treatment of bonding interfaces. It is hoped that the consensus may help the clinicians to make correct decisions in selecting adequate materials in all-ceramic restoration according to various specific cases in the clinic.
    全瓷材料具有优越的美学性能、力学性能和生物相容性,已成为临床最常用的牙齿美学修复材料,但目前对全瓷材料的临床应用还存在很多困惑。中华口腔医学会口腔美学专业委员会联合口腔材料专业委员会,组织口腔修复学、口腔材料学、口腔种植学及口腔美学等多学科专家制定全瓷美学修复材料的临床应用专家共识。该共识主要针对全瓷材料的分类、主要性能指标、临床适应证和粘接处理等重要临床问题,以期帮助口腔医师在临床工作中能根据具体病例正确选择合适的全瓷修复材料。.

    Ceramic inlays and partial crowns have become scientifically recognized posterior restorations. Their clinical effectiveness depends on the development of durable dental ceramics and luting materials as well as an effective bonding system. Therefore, these factors were in the focus of interest in the past. In contrast, only little attention was given to preparation techniques. However, current studies show that special preparation rules should be followed to ensure best fitting CAD/CAM ceramic restorations and long-lasting clinical success. This paper describes preparation requirements by means of detailed three-dimensional schematic drawings and then deduces the clinical procedure for the preparation of ceramic inlays and partial crowns with standardized preparation instruments.

    Clinical success of an endosseous implant to replace a single tooth is not only defined by its survival. Esthetic parameters have become integral aspects in defining success and failure. All-ceramic abutments have started to play a major role in achieving an esthetically successful result. The material itself, however, is not the exclusive determinant for esthetic success. It is the appropriate design and proper handling of the material and the abutment that enables the clinician to achieve esthetic outcomes that were not possible with traditional metal alloys. This article explores the rationale for using zirconia for prosthetic implant components, explains specific material properties, and discusses strategies and guidelines for the design and successful clinical implementation of CAD/CAM-fabricated zirconia implant abutments.

    This article discusses the trend toward less-invasive restorative procedures. Two cases that required different approaches to similar restorations are documented. Understanding a systematic preparation philosophy allows clinicians to be consistent regarding both their approach and the expected results. The use of wax-ups and preparation guides to achieve predictable esthetic restorations is shown, both visually and technically.

    Patient demand for esthetic dentistry has increased clinicians\' use of composite resin luting agents for cementing both intra- and extracoronal restorations. The cementation process is key to the success of such treatment to prevent microleakage, ensure sufficient retention of the restoration to the tooth substrate, and provide the physical strength required of the restoration. Recent advances in adhesive technology have expanded the options available to the practitioner when selecting a restorative material and luting cement, and new guidelines must be understood accordingly.

    High-strength, all-ceramic systems for full-coverage restorations use all-ceramic core materials for the fabrication and processing of infrastructures (eg, crown copings, fixed partial denture frameworks) that are then veneered with porcelain. Not all of these all-ceramic core materials are alike, and as such, they present with different properties that may affect their indications and limitations, the laboratory procedures used for their processing, and their clinical handling. This article reviews their clinically relevant properties and discusses the effect of these characteristics on their indications and recommended clinical procedures.
    OBJECTIVE: This article provides an overview of the clinically relevant properties of high-strength, all-ceramic systems used for aesthetic restorative dentistry. Upon reading this article, the reader should: Be able to differentiate among the principal all-ceramic material systems. Understand the clinical indications for contemporary, high-strength ceramics.
