    The aim is to optimize the dimethylacetamide (DMA) straw freezing technology of Black silkies rooster semen through the handy patent equipment, screening the formula of freezing basic extender and optimizing the DMA addition method, and then by comparing the fertility of DMA straw frozen semen with the pellet frozen semen. After the DMA straw freezing technology is optimized, it is extended to the Youxian Partridge drake semen. The result showed that the frozen sperm motility of Lake and Ravie (LR) group is 64%, the fertility 49.57% and the hatchability 91.52%, all of which are superior to those of FEB, Beltsville Poultry Semen Extender (BPSE) and Lake (P < 0.05). The sperm motility of adding DMA stock solution is 59%, which is superior to adding DMA directly into diluted semen (P > 0.05). The fertility and hatchability of DMA straw group are 77.61% and 92.30%, respectively, and it is significantly higher than those in the pellet group (P < 0.01; P < 0.05). The fresh drake sperm motility of induction collection method is 71%, the massage collection method 61% and the frozen drake sperm motility of induction 33% while the massage 19%. The fertility of frozen drake semen group is 85.93%, while that of the fresh semen group is 88.17%. The frozen drake semen fertility of the highest batch is 93.8%. In conclusion, the world\'s advanced fertility of frozen semen can be obtained both in the chicken and drake through the optimized DMA straw freezing technology and the method of screening freeze-resistant individuals.

    Complications in pediatric neurooncology surgery are seldom and inconsistently reported. This study quantifies surgical morbidity after pediatric brain tumor surgery from the last decade in a single center, using existing morbidity and outcome measures.
    The authors identified all pediatric patients undergoing surgery for an intracranial tumor in a single tertiary pediatric neurosurgery center between January 2008 and December 2018. Complications between postoperative days 0 and 30 that had been recorded prospectively were graded using appropriate existing morbidity scales, i.e., the Clavien-Dindo (CD), Landriel, and Drake scales. The result of surgery with respect to the predetermined surgical aim was also recorded.
    There were 477 cases (364 craniotomies and 113 biopsies) performed on 335 patients (188 males, median age 9 years). The overall 30-day mortality rate was 1.26% (n = 6), and no deaths were a direct result of surgical complication. Morbidity on the CD scale was 0 in 55.14%, 1 in 10.69%, 2 in 18.66%, 3A in 1.47%, 3B in 11.74%, and 4 in 1.05% of cases. Morbidity using the Drake classification was observed in 139 cases (29.14%). Neurological deficit that remained at 30 days was noted in 8.39%; 78% of the returns to the operative theater were for CSF diversion.
    To the authors\' knowledge, this is the largest series presenting outcomes and morbidity from pediatric brain tumor surgery. The mortality rate and morbidity on the Drake classification were comparable to those of published series. An improved tool to quantify morbidity from pediatric neurooncology surgery is necessary.

    Nitrobenzene (NB) has become an important pollutant in the environment, but its potential effects on non-target species such as drake remain unknown. In this study, we investigated the oxidative stress response, the CYP450 system and histopathological changes of the liver of NB-treated drakes for 40 d. Our results indicated that NB induced significant changes in antioxidant enzyme (SOD, CAT and GSH-Px) activities and the MDA content in the liver of the drakes. NB caused a condition-dependent increase in APND, EROD and ECOD isoenzyme activities and CYP450 content with increased exposure dose. Significant histological alternations were observed in the liver of NB-treated drakes and the pathological changes revealed tissue damage that was more severe with increasing of exposure dose. To our knowledge, this is the first study to report the chronic effects of NB on oxidative stress, the CYP450 system and histopathology in the drakes. These significant effects caused by NB reveal that these indices can be used as biomarker for monitoring NB as an environmental pollutant. Thus, future studies are needed to fully understand the exact mechanisms of these findings.
