    Intraarticular injection of osteoarthritis knee is one of the treatment options for pain management and delays the need for knee surgery. Various materials have been promoted for the procedure, ranging from corticosteroid to viscosupplement to the more recent autologous biological materials. Despite the increasing attention and interest in regard to the material selection, efficacy, safety, and effect of this intervention, a comprehensive bibliometric analysis using the Scopus database has yet to be conducted. In this bibliometric analysis, we reviewed the Scopus database from 2003 to 2023 to investigate the literature on intraarticular injection for the treatment of knee osteoarthritis. A total of 1,318 articles that satisfied the selection criteria were included in this review. The trend of intervention shows changes since 2006, with corticosteroid injection and hyaluronic acid as the main topics of publication before 2006. However, starting in 2010, there has been a noticeable shift towards biological agents, such as plasma-rich proteins, and autologous materials, including marrow aspiration and stromal vascular fraction. This shift reflects the increasing interest in regenerative medicine and the potential of these newer therapies to provide improved outcomes. The overwhelming majority of the articles were authored by researchers and clinicians from across European countries, the United States of America (USA), and Australia. Similarly, most of the articles with the highest number of citations were authored by researchers and clinicians from these regions. This comprehensive bibliometric analysis using Scopus in the domain of intraarticular injection has the potential to act as a roadmap for researchers, clinicians, and policymakers, facilitating informed decision-making, promoting collaborative initiatives, and guiding the development of future studies to further advance the options of knee intraarticular injection, specifically in the management of knee osteoarthritis.

    Primary joint replacements are performed increasingly often worldwide, driven by an aging population, improvement in surgical techniques, and advancements in implant designs. While more attention has traditionally been focused on weight-bearing joints such as the hip and knee, shoulder replacement surgeries have gained increasing attention in recent years due to the population\'s demand for a better quality of life. Thus far, a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of shoulder arthroplasty-related publications using the Scopus database has not yet been conducted. This bibliometric analysis aims to fill this gap by reviewing the Scopus database from its inception until 2023 to examine the literature on shoulder arthroplasty. A total of 5300 publications meeting the selection criteria were included in this analysis. The turn of the century marked a significant turning point for the field of shoulder arthroplasty, with an increasing number of publications produced annually. This trend can be attributed to the improvement of implant designs, which have become more consistent and reliable over time. While the majority of articles were authored by researchers and clinicians from the United States of America (USA), publications by French authors had a higher scholarly impact in the field. There is a noticeable gap in research on shoulder arthroplasty in developing countries, possibly due to the prohibitively high cost of implants and the prioritization of other healthcare sectors. This bibliometric analysis, utilizing Scopus data, serves as a guiding light for researchers, clinicians, and policymakers, potentially fostering collaborative projects and guiding the development of future studies to further advance the field of shoulder arthroplasty, particularly in developing countries.

    Brachial plexus birth injury (BPBI) is a relatively common condition that poses a significant challenge to children who endure functional impairments later on. This comprehensive bibliometric analysis sought to quantitatively evaluate the existing literature on BPBI, shedding light on authorship, collaboration, publication trends, and keyword analysis to both inform the medical community and foster future research growth. A thorough search of the Web of Science database yielded 712 relevant documents published between 1986 and 2022. The analysis utilized Biblioshiny (K-Synth Srl, Naples, Italy) for bibliometric data, alongside VOSviewer (Centre for Science and Technology Studies, Leiden University, The Netherlands) and TextRazor (TextRazor Ltd., London, UK) for keyword categorization. The literature had an average annual growth rate of 7.94%, with an average document age of 12 years. Collaborative efforts demonstrated 9.6% international co-authorship, with the United States prominently leading global collaborations. Top producing authors included Yang, Kozin, and Clarke, while the most cited authors were Clarke, Waters, and Curtis. Journals such as the Journal of Pediatric Orthopedics and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery emerged as key contributors to the literature. Keyword analysis illuminated prevalent categories like \"society\" and \"health,\" underscoring the multifaceted nature of BPBI research. The findings from this bibliometric analysis highlight the dynamic and collaborative landscape of BPBI research, emphasizing the pressing need for continued contributions to address existing gaps in knowledge, enhance global collaboration, and advance the understanding and treatment of this complex condition. Beyond quantitative metrics, this study holds particular significance in its role as a compass for researchers, practitioners, and policymakers invested in BPBI.     Temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is a bicondylar joint. Various conditions have the same clinical presentation as TMJ dysfunction, which requires a thorough assessment of active and passive movements and palpation of the joints surrounding the joint. Many times, TMJ dysfunction occurs due to an alteration in the cervical spine. The patient complains of clicking or popping sound at the jaw and a reduced maximum mouth opening. The conditions that lead to TMJ dysfunction include bruxism, arthritis, stress, injury to the jaw, and overuse. The trend of the available literature has changed from 1972 to 2021 to assess changing trends in the publication on TMJ about authors, country, collaboration of the institutes, and the journal. We have done this bibliometric assessment. The articles were collected from the PubMed database; the keywords used were temporomandibular dysfunction (TMD), neck pain, physiotherapy, and rehabilitation. A total of 437 articles were found from 1975 to 2021, which were then converted into pictorial forms using the CiteSapce R software, and the data were interpreted. The analysis of the bibliometrics of publications on TMD, neck pain, and functional disability between the years 1975 and 2021 shows a total of 437 articles were published. The articles were from 196 sources; the highest number of publications were seen from 2014 until 2021, with the highest number of published papers by author Yoo WG and the highest number of articles published by the Journal of Physical Therapy Science. This bibliometric analysis depicts that the quantity of literature on TMD and the forward head has increased, as has the effectiveness of physical therapy interventions on the forward head in terms of correcting temporomandibular dysfunction.

    Kluver-Bucy Syndrome (KBS) is a rare neuropsychiatric disorder characterized by hyperorality, hypersexuality, bulimia, visual agnosia, and amnesia due to lesions affecting bilateral temporal lobes. It is attributed to a multitude of causes, including stroke, herpes simplex encephalitis, Alzheimer\'s disease, and head trauma. Current treatments for KBS include symptomatic management with antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, carbamazepine, and selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors. The bibliometric analysis was done to reflect the relevance and understanding of KBS in recent literature. The SCOPUS database was utilized to conduct a search for all articles with the terms \"Kluver-Bucy\" and \"Kluver Bucy\" from January 1, 1955 (the first available articles from the search) to February 1, 2023. The parameters included in this analysis were article title, citation numbers, citations per year, authors, institutions, publishing journals, country of origin, Source Normalized Impact per Paper, and Scopus CiteScore. Since 1937, when Kluver-Bucy Syndrome was first defined, the publications on KBS have steadily increased, with up to six publications a year in 2002. The most common institutions were SUNY Upstate Medical University, VA Medical Center, and the State University of New York (SUNY) System. Seven of these papers were published in Neurology. Almost 75% of the articles were published in journals of medicine and neuroscience. This is the first bibliometric analysis to evaluate the most influential publications about Kluver-Bucy Syndrome. A majority of the research is case-based and there is a dearth of clinical trials to identify the exact pathophysiology and physiotherapy management, possibly owing to the rarity of the disease. Our research suggests that there may be a significant overlap between Sanfilippo syndrome and KBS, suggesting that refined guidelines for establishing diagnosis may be required for children. Our study could bring a renewed interest in this field and lead to additional research focused on understanding the pathophysiology of KBS in order to promote the development of novel diagnostics and treatment.

    CT pulmonary angiography (CTPA) is the investigation of choice for diagnosing pulmonary embolism (PE). Due to the speed and ease of performing the CTPA scans, more clinicians are becoming overly reliant on them, even for patients without strong suspicion of PE. We conducted a bibliometric analysis on the PubMed database from 1990 to 2022 to investigate the literature on the diagnostic yield of CTPA in the diagnosis of PE. A total of 166 articles were published in 98 journals. The number of publications has steadily increased since 2010 and peaked in 2020. Authors from 24 countries contributed to these publications, with the overwhelming majority emanating from United States of America, totaling 66 articles. The authors\' contributions were relatively well spread out, with the top four authors publishing the highest number of articles at six each. When we investigated the collaboration between the authors, we found limited multinational and multi-institutional collaborations on this topic. Therefore, more multinational and multi-institutional collaborations will be valuable in future studies. In conclusion, this bibliometric analysis summarizes the literature on diagnostic yield of CTPA in the diagnosis of PE and sheds light on the future pathway that researchers and institutions can focus on.

    Background #OrthoTwitter has evolved to disseminate findings and engage the public. However, the academic impact of Twitter utilization in orthopaedic surgery is unknown. Questions/purposes The purpose of the study was to evaluate relationships between the author and manuscript Twitter activity and citations. Methods Manuscripts in 17 orthopaedic journals from 2018 were identified. Citations, online mentions, impact factors, and subspecialties were obtained. H-index and Twitter account details for authors were obtained for a subset of manuscripts. Relationships between Twitter activity and citations were evaluated. Results 2,473/4,224 (58.5%) manuscripts were mentioned on Twitter (n=29,958 mentions), with Twitter manuscripts cited more frequently (median 10 vs. 7, p<0.0001). Twitter mentions, impact factors, non-open-access status, and subspecialties were associated with citation counts. Articles mentioned in 10, 100, and 1,000 Tweets were observed to have a 1.1-fold, 1.7-fold, and 245-fold increase in citations. In author-level analyses, 156 (20.0%) first and 216 (27.7%) senior authors had Twitter accounts. Citation count was associated with increasing senior author H-index (β est=0.13, p<0.05), Twitter mentions (β est=0.0043, p<0.0001), impact factors (β est=0.13, p<0.0001), and having a first (β est=0.20, p<0.05) or senior author (β est=0.17, p<0.05) on Twitter. Articles published in arthroplasty (β est=0.49, p<0.05), general interest (β est=0.55, p<0.01), sports (β est=0.63, p<0.01), and non-open access journals (β est=0.41, p<0.001) were cited more. H-index correlated with followers for first (rho=0.31, p<0.0001) and senior authors (rho=0.44, p<0.0001). Conclusion Author Twitter utilization is independently associated with manuscript citations. Authors should be aware of the potential association between social media utilization and traditional academic impact. Understanding the relationship between social media utilization and academic impact is necessary to effectively disseminate research.

    BACKGROUND:  The speed of manuscript publication in reputable journals plays a crucial role in spreading scientific novelties and may influence the number of received citations. In the present study, the authors investigated the publication speed of dentistry journals. This is crucial for both authors, who desire rapid dissemination of their findings, and patients in need, who seek new therapies.
    METHODS:  This was a cross-sectional bibliometric analysis of published dentistry journals. A list of dentistry journals featured in the 2021 Journal Citation Report was downloaded. A total of five random original articles were extracted from each of these journals. These articles were published between January and December 2020. Median and interquartile range (IQR) times from submission to acceptance, publication in print, online publication, time from acceptance to in print and online publication were calculated. The correlation between publication times and journal impact factor (IF) was examined.
    RESULTS:  A total of 89 journals were included. Individual time from submission to acceptance (peer review time) ranged from 6 to 279 days, the combined median peer review time was 115 (80-159) days. The overall median time from acceptance to online or print publication was 17 (12-38) and 153 (92-249) days, respectively. Journals with available data concerning publication times tended to have higher IF than others. Only journals that did not have available time from acceptance to online publication had higher IF. There were negative correlations between times from submission (r = -0.442, p = 0.007), acceptance (r = -0.616, p < 0.001) to in-print publication, and IF. There were no correlations between IF and time from submission to acceptance, acceptance to online publication, and submission to online publication.
    CONCLUSIONS:  Publication times availability was revealed to be an indicator of higher impacted journals, which is a potential new exponent of journal quality. Higher IF values were associated with shorter times from submission to acceptance and in-print publication, which is consistent with current editorial policies.

    Quantifying the academic impact of hand surgery units can serve as a useful parameter for clinicians interested in academia when applying for fellowships or consultant posts. The aim of this study is to measure and rank the academic impact of hand surgery units across the United Kingdom (UK) using bibliometric analysis. UK hand surgery units were identified from the British Society for Surgery of the Hand (BSSH) website and additional manual internet searches. Predefined search strings were used to identify papers about or relating to hand surgery. Using the Clarivate Analytics Web of Science bibliometric analysis tool, cumulative (1900-2021), 10-year (2011-2021), and 3-year (2018-2021) research output data was collected from UK hand surgery units and ranked using the following parameters: number of papers (Np), number of citations (Nc), and the h-index (a metric evaluating the cumulative impact of academic output). The top three units according to the 10-year h-index were The Pulvertaft Hand Centre (15), John Radcliffe Hospital (10), and Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (10). The units with the greatest number of papers published in the last 10 years were the Pulvertaft Hand Centre (70), Chelsea & Westminster Hospitals (45), and Broomfield Hospital (44). The units with the single most cited papers were Wrightington Hospital (189), the Pulvertaft Hand Centre (152), and St John\'s Hospital & Royal Hospital for Sick Children (152). The academic impact of hand surgery units varies greatly across the UK. Hand surgery units with a historically strong academic record have generally maintained a similar high output of research over the last decade. The 10-year h-index of hand surgery units can be particularly useful for hand surgeons with a strong academic interest.
