    BACKGROUND: Evaluating the risk of relapse is a pivotal step in the treatment of patients with methamphetamine use disorder (MUD). The 30-item Stimulant Relapse Risk Scale (SRRS) was originally developed in Japan to meet the demand. This study examined the reliability, validity, and factor structure of the Chinese version of the SRRS for patients with MUD.
    METHODS: 247 patients with MUD self-rated the Chinese version of the SRRS. Cronbach\'s alpha coefficients and inter-item correlation analysis were used to assess the internal consistency reliability. Construct validity was determined through confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), and concurrent validity was examined using the visual analogue scale (VAS) for drug craving and the severity of dependence scale (SDS). We followed the participants for 1 year and assessed the predictive validity based on the correlation of the scores of the Chinese version of the SRRS with the relapse rate within 3, 6, and 12 months of follow-up.
    RESULTS: CFA revealed satisfactory model fit estimates for the 22-item Chinese version of the SRRS that consisted of four subscales. The four-factored 22-item Chinese version of the SRRS had adequate internal consistency with Cronbach\'s alphas ranging from 0.76 to 0.92. The 22-item Chinese version of the SRRS scores were significantly correlated with the VAS and SDS scores as well as the relapse rate within 3, 6, and 12 months, indicating good concurrent and predictive validity of this scale. The receiver operating characteristic curve revealed a cutoff score of 40 could discriminate between participants with (SDS score ≥ 4) and without (SDS score < 4) methamphetamine dependence (area under the curve = 0.71, p < 0.01).
    CONCLUSIONS: The 22-item Chinese version of the SRRS that consists of four subscales is a valid and reliable instrument to assess the relapse risk in patients with MUD.

    The terahertz (THz) metasurfaces that support bound states in the continuum (BICs) provide a promising platform for various applications due to their high Q-factor resonance. In this study, we experimentally demonstrate multiple BICs with different resonance symmetries in the THz metasurface based on mode coupling. The proposed metasurface is composed of 2 × 2 split ring resonators (SRRs) metamolecules. The SRRs of two different gap angles in the metamolecule lattice provide intrinsic resonance with different frequencies, and the coupling between them exhibits high transmission quasi-BIC resonance, which can be tuned by varying the gap angle. The arrangement of SRRs in the 2 × 2 metamolecule lattice determines the types of coupling that govern the resonance symmetry of quasi-BIC. More interestingly, the multiple quasi-BICs enabled by different couplings can be simultaneously achieved in a metasurface. Apart from tuning the gap angles, the permittivity in the vicinity of SRRs also changes the resonance frequency. Consequently, quasi-BIC can be artificially formed by deliberately constructing the permittivity difference of the dielectric environment on the SRRs. In view of this, we introduce the scheme of permittivity retrieval for the dispersive analyte, assisted by the fixed-permittivity gratings. In addition, we experimentally demonstrate the metasurface in combination with the microfluidic chip for the sensing of the glucose solution concentration. Our findings offer a possible strategy for the existing manufactured metasurface to achieve quasi-BIC resonance and provide a promising candidate for approaching the spectral analysis of the biochemical.

    The composite right/left-handed (CRLH) transmission line (TL) is presented as a general TL possessing both left-handed (LH) and right-handed (RH) natures. RH materials have both positive permittivity and positive permeability, and LH materials have both negative permittivity and negative permeability. This paper aims to design and analyze nonlinear CRLH-TL transmission line loaded with resonant tunneling diode (RTD). The main application of this design is a very wideband and compact filter that amplifies the travelling signal. We used OrCAD and ADS software to analyze the proposed circuit. CRLH-TL consists of a microstrip line which is loaded with complementary split-rings resonators (CSRRs), series gaps, and shunt inductor connected parallel to the RTD. The designed structure possess a wide band that ranges from 5 to 10.5 GHz and amplifies signal up to 50 %. The proposed design is of interest to microwave compact component designers.
