    The role of preoperative cardiac computed tomography (CT) in neonates with pulmonary atresia and intact ventricular septum (PA-IVS) remains unclear. This study was aimed to elaborate the role of preoperative CT-derived anatomical and functional findings in planning treatment strategies in neonates with PA-IVS. The presence of ventriculocoronary arterial connections was evaluated by CT. CT-derived ventricular volumetric parameters were compared and correlated with echocardiographic tricuspid valve (TV) z-score in 12 neonates with PA-IVS. Cardiac CT and echocardiographic findings were compared between definite surgical types (median follow-up, 4 years). Ventriculocoronary arterial connections were identified with CT in 58.3% of cases (7/12) and associated with higher incidence of Fontan procedure (42.9%, 3/7) and high mortality (28.6%, 2/7). The CT-derived and echocardiographic TV z-scores exhibited a high correlation (R = 0.924, p < 0.001). The CT-derived right ventricle (RV) volume and RV-left ventricle volume ratio also displayed high correlations (R = 0.875 and 0.867, respectively; p < 0.001) with echocardiographic TV z-score. More positive echocardiographic TV z-score, high CT-derived RV end-diastolic volume and RV-left ventricle volume ratio, and low CT-derived left ventricular end-diastolic volume were observed in biventricular surgery group (N = 2), compared to Fontan operation (N = 3) and 1.5 ventricular surgery (N = 3) groups, and mortality cases (N = 3). Preoperative CT-derived coronary artery anatomy and ventricular volumetric parameters may supplement treatment planning in neonates with PA-IVS especially when multifactorial decision including echocardiographic TV z-score is in a gray zone.W.

    BACKGROUND: In China, the internet has become one of the most important ways to obtain information about breast cancer. However, quantitative evaluations of the quality of Chinese health websites and the breast cancer treatment information they publish are lacking.
    OBJECTIVE: This study aimed to evaluate the quality of Chinese breast cancer websites and the value, suitability, and accuracy of the breast cancer treatment information they publish.
    METHODS: Chinese breast cancer health websites were searched and manually screened according to their Alexa and Baidu search engine rankings. For each website included in the survey, which was conducted on April 8, 2019, the three most recently published papers on the website that met the inclusion criteria were included for evaluation. Three raters assessed all materials using the LIDA, DISCERN, and Suitability Assessment of Materials (SAM) tools and the Michigan Checklist. Data analysis was completed with the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) version 20.0 and Microsoft Excel 2010.
    RESULTS: This survey included 20 Chinese breast cancer websites and 60 papers on breast cancer treatment. The LIDA tool was used to evaluate the quality of the 20 websites. The LIDA\'s scores of the websites (mean=54.85, SD 3.498; total possible score=81) were low. In terms of the layout, color scheme, search facility, browsing facility, integration of nontextual media, submission of comments, declaration of objectives, content production method, and robust method, more than half of the websites scored 0 (never) or 1 (sometimes). For the online breast cancer treatment papers, the scores were generally low. Regarding suitability, 32 (53.33%) papers were evaluated as presenting unsuitable material. Regarding accuracy, the problems were that the papers were largely not original (44/60, 73%) and lacked references (46/60, 77%).
    CONCLUSIONS: The quality of Chinese breast cancer websites is poor. The color schemes, text settings, user comment submission functions, and language designs should be improved. The quality of Chinese online breast cancer treatment information is poor; the information has little value to users, and pictorial information is scarcely used. The online breast cancer treatment information is accurate but lacks originality and references. Website developers, governments, and medical professionals should play a full role in the design of health websites, the regulation of online health information, and the use of online health information.

    A quantitative method of analyzing nanoparticles (NPs) for drug delivery is urgently required by researchers and industry. Therefore, we developed new quantitative analytical methods for biodegradable and amphiphilic NPs consisting of polymeric γ-PGA-Phe [phenylalanine attached to poly(γ-glutamic acid)] molecules. These γ-PGA-Phe NPs were completely dissociated into separate γ-PGA-Phe molecules by adding sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS). The dissociated NPs were chromatographically separated to analyze parameters such as the γ-PGA-Phe content in the NPs, the impurities present [using reverse-phase (RP) HPLC with an ultraviolet (UV) detector], and the absolute MW [using size-exclusion chromatography (SEC) with refractive index detection (RI) and multiangle light scattering (MALS) detection, i.e., SEC-RI/MALS]. The chromatographic patterns of the NPs were equivalent to those of the component polymer (γ-PGA-Phe), and excellent chromatographic separation for the quantitative evaluation of NPs was achieved. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of the quantitative evaluation of NPs in the field of NP-based delivery systems. Furthermore, these methods were applied to optimize and evaluate the NP manufacturing process. The results showed that impurities were effectively removed from the γ-PGA-Phe during the manufacturing process, so the purity of the final γ-PGA-Phe NPs was enhanced. In addition, the appearance, clarity of solution, particle size, zeta potential, particle matter, osmolarity, and pH of the product were evaluated to ensure that the NPs were of the required quality. Our approach should prove useful for product and process characterization and quality control in the manufacture of NPs. γ-PGA-Phe NPs are known to be a powerful vaccine adjuvant, so they are expected to undergo clinical development into a practical drug-delivery system. The analytical methods established in this paper should facilitate the reliable and practical quality testing of NP products, thus aiding the clinical development of γ-PGA-Phe-based drug-delivery systems. Moreover, since these analytical methods employ commonly used reagents and chromatographic systems, the methods are expected to be applicable to other NP-based drug-delivery products too. Graphical abstract NPs were completely dissociated into separate γ-PGA-Phe polymeric molecules, which yielded a similar chromatogram to that seen for the NPs.

    Radiology is facing many challenges nowadays, and certainly needs to keep up with the fast pace of developments taking place in this field. This editorial aims at drawing the attention of the reader to the current establishment of quantitative imaging biomarkers, in particular through the efforts of the Quantitative Imaging Biomarker Alliance (QIBA) from the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA), as well as the European Imaging Biomarker Alliance (EIBALL) from the European Society of Radiology (ESR). The case of arterial spin labelling (ASL) is used as an example of the long and winding road to translate a good imaging technique into a clinically relevant imaging biomarker.
