CAR-T cell therapy for patients with hematological malignancies has been practiced at the Basse-Normandie Hematology Institute since November 2022. This treatment requires the care pathway to be coordinated by the nurse coordinator. Nurses play a key role in the early diagnosis of side effects induced by this drug. Interdisciplinary collaboration and the value of teamwork are also emphasized.

In this case report we present a feline large granular lymphocyte (LGL) lymphoma, a rare morphologically distinct subtype of lymphoma, in a twelve-year-old female spayed domestic short hair cat, with high suspicion of leptomeningeal lymphomatosis due to magnetic resonance imaging findings and results of cerebral spinal fluid analyses. Diagnosis of LGL lymphoma was confirmed by means of blood cytology and polymerase chain reaction for antigen receptor rearrangements.
In diesem Fallbericht wird ein felines Large Granular Lymphocyte (LGL) Lymphom, ein seltener, morphologischer Subtyp eines Lymphoms, bei einer zwölf Jahre alten, weiblich-kastrierten Kurzhaar-Hauskatze vorgestellt, mit Verdacht auf Lymphomatose der Leptomeningen aufgrund der magnetresonanztomographischen- und der Liquor-Befunden. Die Diagnose eines LGL-Lymphoms wurde durch Blutzytologie und Polymerase-Kettenreaktion für Antigenrezeptor-Rearrangements bestätigt.
Dans ce rapport de cas, nous présentons un Large Granular Lymphocyte (LGL) lymphome, un sous-type rare de lymphome, chez une chatte domestique à poil court stérilisée de douze ans, avec une forte suspicion de lymphomatose leptoméningée en raison des résultats de l’imagerie par résonance magnétique et de l’analyse du liquide céphalo-rachidien. Le diagnostic de LGL-lymphome a été confirmé par une cytologie sanguine et une réaction en chaîne de la polymérase pour les réarrangements des récepteurs d’antigènes.
In questo rapporto vi presentiamo un Large Granular Lymphocyte (LGL) linfoma, un raro sottotipo morfologicamente distinto di linfoma, in una gatta domestica femmina castrata di dodici anni a pelo corto, con un forte sospetto di linfomatosi leptomeningea supportata dei risultati della risonanza magnetica e delle analisi del liquido cerebrospinale. La diagnosi di LGL-linfoma è stata confermata mediante citologia del sangue e reazione a catena della polimerasi per i riarrangiamenti del recettore dell’antigene.

Since 2020, a promising new treatment has been offered to elderly patients with acute myeloid leukemia. However, adverse events complicate their treatment, which is performed on an outpatient basis. The advanced practice nurse could provide assistance in the follow-up of these elderly and polypathological patients, who require regular clinical and biological monitoring, adaptation of their therapies and the establishment of city-hospital coordination likely to guarantee their maintenance at home.

T cell prolymphocytic leukemia (T-PLL) is a rare, aggressive neoplasm derived from post-thymic T cells. Patients are typically middle-aged with a slight male predominance who present with a high white blood cell count, hepatosplenomegaly, lymphadenopathy, and other symptoms typically associated with leukemia. Although cutaneous involvement has been reported in up to 30% of cases of T-PLL, to our knowledge, none have presented with a presentation resembling livedoid vasculopathy. In the correct clinical context, an underlying hematolymphoid neoplasm should be included in the differential diagnosis of a patient presenting with livedoid vasculopathy.

Bispecific antibodies are novel approaches of immunotherapy engaging immune cells to destroy tumor cells. Their structure is variable and underlies their pharmacocinetic properties. These coumpounds are now being evaluated across multiple hematological malignancies. The anti-CD3/CD19 antibody blinatumomab is the first in class and have been approved for the treatment of patients with Ph-negative B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Other emerging applications are lymphoma, multiple myeloma and acute myeloid leukemia. The safety profile of bispecific antibodies is acceptable while limited by neurotoxicity and cytokine-release syndrome. The present review aims to depict the landscape of emerging bispecific antibodies currently in development for hematological malignancies.

CAR-T Cells are gene therapy medicinal products, a subcategory of Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products as defined in the EC Regulation 1394/2007. They may represent the first example of such medicinal products that are industry-manufactured and commercialized on a large scale. Their very nature, their manufacturing processes, pricing and conditions upon which they were approved by regulatory agencies, all lead the latter to require long-term follow-up after marketing approval with a view for a better definition of CAR-T Cells safety profile and efficacy profile in real world conditions. Collection and analysis of data over a 15-year period of time represents a technical and political challenge. So does the a priori definition of data to be collected for a wealth of forthcoming analyses that focus on the interests of a variety of stakeholders. EBMT has been collecting and analyzing data on hematopoietic cell transplants for decades. EBMT currently works with many interested parties to collect data on patients treated with CAR-T Cells.

Blood is apart from the rest of the tissues as this fluid is overseen by basic and applied life and humanistic sciences. Blood is the essence of human functioning. It is the object of one of the most commonly known cancers, leukemia. It is life-saving in transfusion - a property that also gives blood a special credit and questions blood as a valuable merchandise or as no ones\' property but common good. But blood is also scandalous after the tainted blood affair in the 1980s and 1990s. Blood is further inseparable from most religious practices, both forefront and hidden (magic cults). It is frightening as it is versed in legitimate and illegitimate combats; it is poured to compensate offenses or debts in many civilizations. Any time blood comes forefront, rationale science leaves it to irrational digressions. Even the very same life-saving transfusion, is beaten by groups of opponents on religious grounds. Further, at a time blood cells and molecules are scrutinized, no one can claim having a complete understanding of what blood is, off the vasculature, as - to study it - one has to alter it. The study of blood is fascinating for all colleges of an academy and not many topics can share this property: chemists, physicists, geneticists, physiologists, medical doctors, philosophers, ethicists, theologians, artists, historicists, anthropologists, sociologists, etc. have all contributed to depict different, specific, aspects of blood. The present review aims at merging different aspects of blood to give pathophysiologists a platform to better understand fears and hopes related to this special tissue, when dealing with patients of theirs.

From the diagnosis of leukaemia and throughout the complex care pathway in paediatric oncology, nurses support the child and the parents, notably as part of the cross-disciplinary support care provided. They play a pivotal role within the multidisciplinary team and favour a personalised treatment helping the child-parent dyad cope better with the disease.
