UNASSIGNED: Effective skin rejuvenation treatments with RF technologies exist, with potential for personalized combination therapies based on individual factors. We compared microneedling and fractional RF laser effectiveness in rejuvenation, pore healing, and skin lightening.
UNASSIGNED: The research was a non-randomized clinical trial study conducted in 2021 at Ilam Skin Clinic, Ilam, western Iran on people applying for rejuvenation, skin lightening and improvement of open pores. People were voluntarily divided into two groups based on personal preferences (group A: microneedling, 25 people, group B: fractional RF, 25 people). After data collection, SPSS22 software was used for data analysis.
UNASSIGNED: The study revealed significant differences in the rates of low, moderate, and severe pain between the microneedling and fractional groups (10 vs. 16, 14 vs. 4, 1 vs. 5, respectively). Erythema showed no significant difference, with low, moderate, and severe cases reported in both groups. Swelling was lower in the microneedling group, but the difference was not significant. Bruising was similar in both groups, and staining was minimal. No herpes or infections were reported. The microneedling group showed better improvement in skin pores and skin lightening compared to the fractional group, with outcomes rated as good and excellent.
UNASSIGNED: Microneedling surpassed the fractional group in skin rejuvenation, lightening, and improved pores. Considering RF lasers are approximately three times more expensive than microneedling, the research indicates that choosing microneedling is not only more cost-effective but also a superior rejuvenation technique.

Radiofrequency (RF) skin rejuvenation is improved using RF microneedling (RFM) devices. More aggressive treatments are performed safely with minimal downtime than previous RF devices. Optimizing treatment parameters is essential for safety and efficacy. Multiple RFM studies support minimal risks even in dark skin types. RFM has been used to treat acne scarring successfully as well as skin laxity and hyperhidrosis.

Background: Severe scarring caused by acne is associated with substantial physical and psychological distress, both in adolescents and adults. There are two basic types of scars: atrophic (depressed) and raised (hypertrophic). Microneedle fractional radiofrequency (MFRF) is a new technology that uses extra sharp microneedles to heat the depths of the dermis, which promotes dermal collagen remodeling. In this study, we used electronically controlled non-insulated microneedle radiofrequency treatment to treat atrophic acne scars, improve skin texture, and reduce pore size. Methods: Nineteen patients were enrolled in the study. The goal of the treatment was to improve acne scars and skin texture and to reduce pore size. Each patient received 2 to 6 treatments with one month intervals between treatments. Treated areas were visually assessed for skin response, including edema, erythema, and burns. We used the standard pain scale of 0 to 10 to assess pain during and after treatment. Results: All the patients completed a series of 2 to 6 treatments. No adverse events as burns, scarring, or hyper/hypopigmentation were reported. Subjective pain assessment was the average point of 1.5, as reported by the patients. The subjective and objective questionnaire revealed high satisfaction from the treatment. Conclusions: The presented study results show that the MFRF treatment provides a highly effective minimally invasive treatment for acne scars, skin texture improvement, and pore size reduction, with a short downtime and high subjective satisfaction rates.

BACKGROUND: In the recent years, there is a growth in demand for radiofrequency (RF)-based procedures to improve skin texture, laxity and contour. The new generation of systems allow non-invasive and fractional resurfacing treatments on one platform.
OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to evaluate the safety and efficacy of a new treatment protocol using a multisource RF, combining 3 different modalities in each patient: [1] non-ablative RF skin tightening, [2] fractional skin resurfacing, and [3] microneedling RF for non-ablative coagulation and collagen remodelling.
METHODS: 14 subjects were enrolled in this study using EndyMed PRO™ platform. Each patient had 8 non-ablative treatments and 4 fractional treatments (fractional skin resurfacing and Intensif).
RESULTS: The global aesthetic score was used to evaluate improvement. All patients had improvement in skin appearance. About 43% had excellent or very good improvement above 50%, 18% had good improvement between 25 and 50%, and the rest 39% had a mild improvement of < 25%. Downtime was minimal and no adverse effect was reported.
CONCLUSIONS: Our data show significant improvement of skin texture, skin laxity and wrinkle reduction achieved using RF treatment platform.
