    OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the survival rate of minimally invasive semipermanent occlusal polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) onlays/veneers in previous temporomandibular disorder (TMD) patients with severe tooth wear and with a loss of vertical dimension after up to 7 years.
    METHODS: This case series was designed as a follow-up evaluation with consecutive patient recruitment. All patients bearing the indication for this kind of rehabilitation were treated by the same clinician using the same adhesive methodology. The study included 22 patients (3 men/19 women), with a mean ± SD age of 50.7 ± 11.6 years. Controls followed within the first 4 weeks (and subsequently as required). Failure criteria included damage by fracture, chipping, and retention loss. Survival rates were determined based on the Kaplan-Meier analysis.
    RESULTS: 328 semipermanent occlusal/incisal veneers were included (142 maxillary/186 mandibular teeth). Almost 80% of the restorations were in place and in function when starting the follow-up treatment after 180 days; failures predominantly occurred within the first 3 to 6 months but proved reparable. Depending on the patients\' priorities, scheduled replacements followed successively, and more than 65% did not show repair or any renewal needs for more than 360 days.
    CONCLUSIONS: Within the limitations of this study the survival rates of occlusal veneers made of PMMA were sufficiently high to allow for consecutive treatment of the respective teeth by means of permanent restorations while preserving the restored vertical dimension. In patients with severe tooth wear and a TMD history, semipermanent restorative therapy with occlusal PMMA onlays/veneers would seem a noteworthy option.

    BACKGROUND: The need to perform restorations with a natural appearance is one of the most challenging aspects of dentistry, and reproducing the colour of natural teeth in restorations is a clinical challenge due to the complex optical characteristics of dentition. Various procedures have been advocated in the literature to correct dental anomalies, particularly in the aesthetic region, such as tooth discoloration due to fluorosis or dentition spacing due to changes in tooth shape, such as peg laterals.
    METHODS: Veneer are one of the most commonly used treatment modalities in such cases. As the use of ceramics necessitates the use of more opaque restorative materials or different thickness, obtaining adequate results in terms of the final colour of the restoration becomes increasingly difficult. The purpose of this study is to present a clinical case of smile rehabilitation in the anterior region with facets made of lithium disilicate, with the goal of achieving colour uniformity and demonstrating the benefits and achieving smile aesthetics.
    UNASSIGNED: Technological advancement such as intraoral scanner for impression making have significant improved the success of prosthesis. This case report presents conservative and aesthetic procedure in the management of closing the space in maxillary anterior region using lithium disilicate laminate veneers with trios software.

    OBJECTIVE: A diagnostic mock-up is a key tool that allows a preview of the outcome of an esthetic restoration. With recent developments in CAD/CAM technology, it is important to understand the pros and cons of chairside digital dentistry and the restorative materials used. The aim of the present case report is to describe in detail the use of a 3D-printed mock-up fabricated from a polymer-based material for an esthetic treatment plan within a fully digital workflow.
    METHODS: A 45-year-old female patient presented at the clinic concerned about her esthetic appearance and the color of her anterior incisors. After a conclusive diagnosis, a restoration was planned using ceramic veneers from maxillary premolar to premolar. For a preview visualization of the outcome, an intraoral scanner was used to obtain 3D images and to allow the design of a digital smile. The template STL file was exported to a 3D printer and a 0.6-mm mock-up in A3-shade 3D resin was produced after 25 min. The mock-up was tested through a try-in and approved by the patient. As a result, the printed mock-up was considered predictable and reliable for the final restoration.
    CONCLUSIONS: The ease, speed, and reduced costs derived from the digital workflow, in conjunction with the accuracy of the mock-up, made the procedure highly efficient and recommendable.

    The objective of this case report was to provide a plan for aesthetic rehabilitation of a patient utilizing layered zirconia restorations to produce a homogeneous, pleasing smile. In this case, a female patient, aged 38 years, presented in dental clinic with a spaced dentition and faulty crowns that were causing functional and aesthetic concerns. She was a banker by profession and socially active. The treatment plan involved layered zirconia indirect restorations to enhance her natural teeth appearance. The aim of this case report was to propose an effective strategy for addressing her concerns, with the potential to achieve a desired aesthetic outcome. Additionally, the implementation of this treatment approach had a positive influence on self-esteem and confidence of the patient.

    The present article reviews the literature regarding tetracycline staining of the dentition and its esthetic management. A total of 49 articles were identified in the initial search, and 22 articles met the eligibility criteria of this narrative literature review. Tetracycline staining results from its use in children between the ages of 6 months and 6 years, when tooth crowns are formed; the effects are dependent on the dosage, duration of treatment, stage of tooth mineralization, and activity of the mineralization process. Tooth bleaching is always the first treatment option for low-grade cases of tetracycline staining. Restorative procedures are indicated for severe staining. The article also describes the treatment of severe staining affecting the maxillary anterior dentition of a 48-year-old man who reported the systemic administration of tetracycline during childhood. Direct composite resin laminate veneers were proposed to achieve immediate, highly esthetic restorations. A combination of different resinous materials in different shades was applied to meet the needs of the patient. The use of direct composite resin laminate veneers satisfied the functional and esthetic demands of the patient at a lower cost than ceramic materials.

    BACKGROUND: Structural abnormalities or anomalies in the anterior teeth, also known as the aesthetic zone, are an important problem for patients and a challenge for dentists. Structural abnormalities or tooth anomalies can change in color, shape, and function. Most dentists prefer minimally invasive aesthetic treatment. One of the aesthetic treatment options for anterior teeth is veneers. Veneer is a restoration that covers the labial part of the tooth with a thin layer of material to correct abnormalities in the color, shape, or function of the tooth. Veneer restoration can be done indirectly with porcelain material made in a laboratory and directly with composite material on the tooth surface or prefabricated which is available from the factory. Componeer is a prefabricated composite veneer that combines the aesthetic properties of ceramic veneers and the adhesive ability of composite veneers to the tooth structure. This case report describes the treatment of two central incisors that had been filled with composite and peg shapes on both lateral incisors using a componeer.
    METHODS: A 32-year-old female patient came to the Dental Conservation Clinic at Dentistry Hospital, Padjadjaran University with the main complaint of her right and left upper front teeth and wanted to repair her old fillings and close the gap between her right and left upper front teeth and her canine teeth. Clinical examination showed that teeth 11 and 21 had been filled with composite which had changed color and had an inharmonious shape as well as a gap between the upper front teeth on the right and left sides and the right and left canine teeth.
    METHODS: The maxilla and mandibular teeth are molded for study models and working models. In the working model, a wax-up is carried out, then a mock-up on the patient\'s teeth. Next, choose the color and size of the components that match the mock up results. Teeth 11 and 21 had their old composite fillings cleaned and refilled with dentin colored composite, teeth 13, 12, 11, 21, 22, and 23 were prepared with a minimum thickness of 0.3 mm to make room for the componeer material. The teeth was etched and bonded, and bonding was applied to the inner surface of the componeer. The composite is placed on the inner surface of the componeer then placed on the labial surface of the tooth and pressed with a special tool, then light cured. The final step is polishing.
    UNASSIGNED: Teeth 13, 12, 11, 21, 22, and 23 which had undergone veneer treatment using componeer, were controlled after 1 week of treatment. The patient did not complain about the results of the treatment and said he was satisfied with the treatment.

    Effective esthetic rehabilitation requires a proper treatment planning in addition to the associated diagnostic wax-up. For anterior rehabilitation, most dentists favor conservative and esthetic treatments, such as indirect laminate veneer restorations which can be partial- or full-ceramic anterior crowns according to the clinical situations. After the introduction of technologies such as intraoral scanners, dental software for digital restoration design, and additive manufacturing (three-dimensional printing), these techniques further enhanced the digital workflow of restorative therapy. These technologies also fabricate prosthesis with natural esthetics and marginal integrity. This case series discusses the conventional and digitally fabricated full- and partial-ceramic veneers for discolored and misaligned anterior teeth after the fabrication of corresponding diagnostic wax-up.

    This article reports a case of maxillary rehabilitation with implant-supported fixed dental prostheses on six zirconia implants. A woman with impacted maxillary canines attended our dental clinic seeking a metal-free maxillary restoration. After the extraction of both impacted maxillary canines and the placement of autogenous bone graft, six two-piece zirconia implants with straight abutments were placed in the anterior maxilla. Two zirconia fixed dental prostheses with porcelain veneering, separated at the midline, were placed on these zirconia implants. The 10-year follow-up monitored the adequate evolution of both implants and restorations with no signs of peri-implant disease.

    The use of dental ceramics on anterior teeth is associated with predictable and long-lasting esthetic results. However, treatment on darkened substrates is challenging. Various conservative options, including ceramic veneers, are available to change the shape and color of anterior teeth. The aim of this case report is to describe the esthetic rehabilitation of a darkened central incisor in a maxillary anterior region that had irregular gingival contours, multiple composite resin restorations, and unsatisfactory tooth shapes. Harmony was restored through periodontal recontouring surgery, placement of a lithium disilicate crown (consisting of a veneer cemented to a coping) on the darkened central incisor, and placement of lithium disilicate veneers on the other maxillary anterior teeth.

    This article presents a clinical technique for transferring Digital Smile Design (DSD) information and a digital wax-up to fabricate highly personalized ceramic laminate veneers. The hybrid workflow of digitally designed wax-up and conventional hand-crafted veneers is showcased in a female adult who sought to improve her smile due to maxillary anterior incisal wear. The ceramic veneers, layered by feldspathic porcelain, followed the contours and shade blueprint planned with the digital wax-up. The DSD improved the harmony of the facial-and-smile relationship, and the ceramic restorations fulfilled the patient\'s esthetic and functional demands. Guides based on the printed model with the digitally designed wax-up can provide a reference for pressed lithium disilicate veneers layered with feldspathic porcelain.
