    Mylife/Mylife100® is a dietary supplement consisting of black sesame seed, guava fruit, mangosteen aril, pennywort leaves, and soy protein. These edible plants contain multiple high-potential bioactive compounds exerting various vital biological functions including antioxidants which contribute to delaying the rate of telomere shortening. Telomere length is associated with cellular aging and age-related diseases. This study aimed to assess the efficacy of Mylife/Mylife100® on telomere length through a randomized, double-blind placebo-controlled trial. The trial assessed the alteration of leukocyte telomere length after 32 adults aged 50-65 years received either Mylife/Mylife100® or placebo (five capsules/day) for 8-week supplementation. The results demonstrated a significant increase in mean telomere length from baseline (6313 bp) to the 8-week supplementation period (6655 bp; p < 0.05) in the group receiving the product, whereas no significant change was observed in the placebo group. Additionally, the product group exhibited a significant improvement in plasma total antioxidant capacity levels compared to the placebo group (mean change, +35 vs -38; p = 0.006). This study also showed a significant correlation between telomere length and % CD4 + T cells (r = +0.325; p = 0.00003), % CD8 + T cells (r = +0.156; p = 0.048), and visceral fat (r = - 0.349; p = 0.000006). The findings suggest that consuming this dietary supplement (Mylife/Mylife100®) for 8 weeks has a positive effect on cellular aging by lengthening telomeres possible through their antioxidant capacities. Oxidative stress and cellular aging are underlying predisease mechanisms that might be alleviated by supplementing with this product.

    Syzygium cumini L. is an evergreen tree belonging to family Myrtaceae, employed for different traditional uses like diabetes, inflammation, and fever. The current study aimed to compare the chemical compositions of the essential oils (EOs) isolated from different organs of Syzygium cumini (leaves (Scl), fruits (Scf), seeds (Scs), and bark (Scb)) using a GC/MS analysis. Also, a chemometric analysis was applied to explore the main similarities and differences among different organs using a Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and a hierarchal cluster analysis (HCA). Furthermore, in vitro antiaging activities were investigated via anti-collagenase, anti-elastase, and anti-hyaluronidase assays. The GC-MS analysis revealed 82 compounds representing 92.13%, 99.42%, 100%, and 92.97% in Scl, Scf, Scs, and Scb, respectively. The predominant components were α-pinene, β-pinene, (E)-β-caryophyllene, α-caryophyllene, caryophyllene oxide, and α-humulene epoxide II with variable percentages. All EOs were positioned on positive PC1, except for Scs, which was positioned on the negative side in a separate quadrant. The HCA dendrogram displayed the closeness of Scl and Scb, which was not clearly recognized in the PCA score plot. Moreover, the Scs oils were totally discriminated from other parts. The Scl and Scs oils showed superior anti-collagenase, anti-elastase, and anti-hyaluronidase activities. Thus, S. cumini oils should be considered for cosmetic preparations to retard skin aging manifestations.

    UNASSIGNED: Fifteen patients, aged 28 to 74, were enrolled and completed the study. Patients were randomly assigned to receive equal amounts of onabotulinumtoxinA and prabotulinumtoxinA-xvfs injected to opposite sides of the face in the glabella and forehead at Day 0 by a blinded injector. Glabellar and frontalis muscle onset to action and rhytid appearance were blindly evaluated using photographs at Days 0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 post-injection. Patients rated their satisfaction of left and right sides using a standardized scale.
    UNASSIGNED: There was no statistically significant difference in onset to action, rhytid appearance, and patient satisfaction after injection with onabotulinumtoxinA versus prabotulinumtoxinA-xvfs in the corrugator and frontalis muscles. Although not statistically significant, a trend existed towards increased patient satisfaction with onabotulinumtoxinA.

    The mass-based metabolomic approach was implemented using GC-MS coupled with chemometric analysis to discriminate between the essential oil compositions of six cultivars of Citrus reticulata. The antiaging capability of the essential oils were investigated through measurement of their ability to inhibit the major enzymes hyaluronidase, collagenase, and amylase involved in aging. GC-MS analysis resulted in the identification of thirty-nine compounds including β-pinene, d-limonene, γ-terpinene, linalool, and dimethyl anthranilate as the main components. Multivariate analysis using principal component analysis (PCA) and hierarchal cluster analysis (HCA) successfully discriminated the cultivars into five main groups. In vitro antiaging activity showed that Kishu mandarin (Km) (2.19 ± 0.10, 465.9 ± 23.7, 0.31 ± 0.01 µg/mL), Cara mandarin (Cm) (3.22 ± 0.14, 592.1 ± 30.1, 0.66 ± 0.03 µg/mL), and Wm (8.43 ± 0.38, 695.2 ± 35.4, 0.79 ± 0.04%) had the highest inhibitory activity against hyaluronidase, collagenase, and amylase, respectively. Molecular docking studies on the major compounds validated the activities of the essential oils and suggested their possible mechanisms of action. Based on our result, certain cultivars of Citrus reticulata can be proposed as a promising candidate in antiaging skin care products.

    Background Growth factors from platelets have been emerging as a revolutionary treatment with the ability to induce cell growth in the skin, which results in retarding and reversing the aging process. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) allows for greater release of growth factors and biologically active proteins, which in turn activates the cascade of stimulation of neoangiogenesis and collagen production. PRP is used in anti-aging and facial skin rejuvenation in the form of dermal injections and topical application during micro-needling. This study was conducted to assess the safety and efficacy of a topically applied face serum, MYOWNN™ (Wockhardt Ltd., Mumbai, India). MYOWNN™ is an autologous growth factor concentrate that has been made into a topical face serum. Methods Male and female subjects in the age group between 30 and 55 years (both inclusive) with Fitzpatrick skin type III-V who had not taken any oral or topical treatments for at least four weeks before and any platelet-rich plasma (PRP) based facial treatment (injections) at least six months before the study entry were included. MYOWNN™ serum was applied on the face once daily at night, approximately 30 minutes before sleeping preferably, for a total duration of five months. Six parameters, i.e. spots, pores, wrinkles, texture, moisture, and pigmentation, were evaluated at regular intervals with Visage-LS (dermaindia®, Tamil Nadu, India), a face analysis system that gives the live status of these six parameters and is an advanced live status skin detection equipment together with shooting, analyzing, and displaying functions, as well as the subjective analysis, was performed by subjects and physicians using different globally accepted scales like physician\'s global aesthetic improvement scale (PGAIS), subject\'s global aesthetic improvement scale (SGAIS), subject satisfaction score (SSS), and wrinkle severity rating scale (WSRS). For analysis, a mixed model for repeated measures was used. The model had change from baseline as the dependent variable visit as a factor and baseline assessment result as a covariate. All primary and secondary efficacy endpoints were analyzed using Modified Intent-to-Treat (mITT) populations. Results Improvement in an average of six anti-aging parameters was observed as early as three months while statistically significant improvement was observed by the end of five months of application. A statistically significant improvement in wrinkles was observed by the end of three months of the application itself. There were no product-related adverse events reported. Conclusions Five months of application of MYOWNN™ serum showed a statistically significant improvement in an average of six parameters of anti-aging and face rejuvenation with a p-value of 0.0150 (<5% level of significance (i.e. 0.05) and was also well-tolerated.

    UNASSIGNED: Skin aging is a complicated process affected by intrinsic, chronological, and extrinsic, environmental, determinants, and it is affected, to a large extent, by exposure to ultraviolet radiation (UVR). The present study aims to assess the antiaging treatment strategies in a real-world setting in Saudi Arabia.
    UNASSIGNED: We conducted an online cross-sectional survey that was conducted from May 2020 to October 2020, involving all eligible dermatologists working at different academic, governmental, and private sectors in Saudi Arabia.
    UNASSIGNED: A total of 200 dermatologists were included in this study, of them, 33% were aged between 24-35 years. 28.5%, 25.5%, 24.5%, and 21.5% of the participants had 7-10, 4-6, >10, and 0-3 years of practice, respectively. Generally, 80 (40%) of the dermatologists reported that 10-20% of their patients consulting for antiaging, while 50 (25%) reported that 41-60% of their patients consulted for antiaging treatment. Cream products were preferred by 105 (52.5%) of the users. In general, 158 (79%) prescribe growth factors Post-procedures, while 29 (14.5), 24 (12%), and 22 (11%) prescribe them for under-eye dark circles, acne scars, and aging skin, respectively. 124 (62%) prefer to use it in combination with retinoids.

    The glycation process has been recognized as one of the critical parameters that accelerate signs of skin aging, especially in skin exposed to environment factors, such as ultraviolet radiation. Although previous studies showed the anti-inflammatory and antiaging properties of the hydrolyzed collagen tripeptide (CTP), its exact mechanism is not fully understood. Therefore, in this study, we sought to investigate the effect of a topical CTP on facial skin. Our group designed a 4 week prospective, single-arm study of 22 Asian women who applied topical CTP. We observed significant improvements in skin wrinkles, elasticity, and density with a reduction in skin accumulation of advanced glycated end products (AGEs) at week 4 without any adverse effects. The in vitro study revealed a preventive effect of the topical CTP on the accumulation of AGEs, denatured collagen production, and reactive oxygen species in dermal fibroblasts. Moreover, treatment with the CTP decreased induction of matrix metalloproteinases while increasing the collagen 1 level. These results suggest that the application of a topical CTP might improve clinical aging phenotypes via the inhibition of glycation and oxidative stress, leading to a delay in cellular aging.

    BACKGROUND: Monopolar radiofrequency (MRF) for facial rejuvenation works by diffusely heating the dermis and subdermal fibro-septal network. Immediate collagen contraction and long-term neo-collagenesis produce antiaging effects.
    OBJECTIVE: To lift and repose drooping fat planes along their vectors of descent to restore natural, youthful contours using MRF and to objectively measure, quantify, and analyze the antiaging effects of MRF on the backdrop of functional facial anatomy.
    METHODS: This was a prospective study on 30 subjects aged 25-65 years who underwent three sessions of MRF (Exilis, BTL Aesthetics) with a modified protocol at weekly intervals. Clinical evaluation at baseline and 4 weeks after the final session was done according to the global drooping and wrinkles classification and scoring system (GDWCSS) and statistically evaluated. Two patients were analyzed with Ultrasound and Vectra-H1 imaging for change in subcutaneous fat depth and volume over different facial areas, respectively.
    RESULTS: There was improvement in all parameters (volume alteration and wrinkles) of the GDWCSS, of which improvement in cases that had baseline severe (grade-4) temporal fat loss, malar fat loss, periorbital hollowing, and puffiness was statistically significant. The results of imaging supported the clinical findings.
    CONCLUSIONS: Monopolar radiofrequency targets facial collagen as deep as the facial fat, thereby achieving \"reversal\" of the grooves and bulges of aging with volume re-distribution and favorable \"remolding\" of fat pads. The result is simultaneous skin tightening, lifting and contouring in manner that is natural, regenerative, and corrective. Given its versatility, efficacy, safety, and tolerability, it is emerging as a power-player in the dermatologist\'s antiaging armamentarium.

    BACKGROUND: Skin aging is characterized by dehydration and degradation of the structural components in the dermis. It has been demonstrated that hesperetin possesses collagen synthesis and antioxidant properties and sodium cyclic lysophosphatidic acid (NcPA) increases skin moisture through upregulating the synthesis of hyaluronic acid.
    OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the efficacy and safety of a serum containing hesperetin 0.1% and NcPA 0.1% for photoaged skin.
    METHODS: The trial consisted of a 12-week topical application of the test product twice daily. A total of 35 female subjects were enrolled. The primary outcome was the change of skin hydration and elasticity, which were determined by Corneometer and Cutometer measurements. Skin biopsy for histological evaluations and subject\'s self-assessment were conducted.
    RESULTS: At week 12, a significant improvement of stratum corneum hydration (p = 0.015) and skin elasticity (p < 0.001) was detected comparing to baseline. The skin biopsy showed significantly improved scores of hyaluronic acid levels (p = 0.034) and elastic fiber structure (p = 0.023). Moreover, the test product resulted in a significant subject-reported overall satisfaction rate 94.3% after 12-week application (p = 0.005).
    CONCLUSIONS: Skin care product containing hesperetin and NcPA showed significant antiaging effects on skin hydration and elasticity.

    BACKGROUND: Both intrinsic and environmental factors play a role in premature ageing of the skin. Natural extracts have been extensively used to reduce the signs of ageing in recent years. Pterostilbene is a natural analog of resveratrol with therapeutic properties against numerous diseases mainly due to its ability to reduce reactive oxygen species.
    METHODS: We studied the anti-aging and skin brightening effect of a 0.4% formulation of natural pterostilbene in healthy volunteers (N=38) in an open-label, single-arm, monocentric study for 8 weeks. The melanogenesis inhibitory, anti-tyrosinase and anti-collagenase and anti-elastase properties of pterostilbene were evaluated in vitro.
    RESULTS: Natural pterostilbene showed significant inhibition of melanogenesis in vitro. Pterostilbene cream (0.4%) was highly effective in reducing markers of aging and induces even skin tone. The product was effective in reducing wrinkles and fine lines, improved skin hydration elasticity and showed no adverse effects.
    CONCLUSIONS: Our results suggest that natural pterostilbene is a safe and effective ingredient for use in cosmetic preparation to reduce the markers of skin ageing and brighten the skin tone.
