A surgical technique using a humeral periosteal free flap is described for the treatment of recurrent osteoradionecrosis of the lower jaw. The humeral periosteal free flap is a technique associated with low morbidity. The procedure described avoids sacrificing major vessels as seen in other common flap procedures. Hence, this revascularization approach is equivalent to a prevention technique that should be considered early in the development of osteoradionecrosis to avoid further damage and challenging reconstruction.
