Recently, we discovered that SIRT7 destabilizes the cyclin dependent kinase inhibitor 2A (CDKN2A, known as ARF) within the nucleolus, aiding cancer progression. We propose that targeting nucleolar SIRT7 offers promise for new anti-cancer therapies.
