{Abstract}: The article presents information reflecting current consideration of strategy of food production from position of of economic sustainability, ensuring population health through compliance of principles of food safety, accessibility and quality improvement. The organic food industry with systems of production, processing, distribution and retailing develops since the 1940s and has huge impact on strategies of food consumption by population, especially in high-income countries. The priorities, goals and objectives of development of organic production in the Russian Federation are targeted to ensure favorable state of environment and preservation of human health.
