In addition to pharmacological treatments, device-based physical therapies also offer antipruritic effects. Phototherapy, laser treatment, electrical neurostimulation technologies, acupuncture, cryotherapy, and cold atmospheric plasma are, in part, still experimental but emerging treatment options that augment our repertoire to treat patients with chronic pruritus. In this narrative review, we provided an overview of these physical modalities and their role in itch management.
