Staphylococcus aureus is a clinically important, opportunist pathogen that has developed resistance to a range of antibiotics. The zebrafish larval model of systemic disease has been increasingly utilized to elucidate S. aureus virulence mechanisms and host-pathogen interactions. Here, we outline how this model can be used to investigate the effects of different antibiotics alone and in combination against S. aureus.
