{Abstract}: In patients with infectious symptoms and severe muscle pain, it is crucial to consider pyomyositis as a significant potential cause. A normal complete blood count should not exclude this possibility early in the course. Early advanced imaging modalities and blood cultures are crucial in narrowing the differential. Methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus is increasingly implicated.
