GIM is known to be associated with immunocompromised states, remains difficult to diagnose and often results in fatal outcomes. It is plausibly the delay in initiation of appropriate treatment strategies that leads to failure of response and patient demise. We report two cases of GIM following live donor liver transplantation, presenting with bleeding and perforation, respectively, highlighting the challenges in making a timely diagnosis of mucormycosis, particularly in immunocompromised patients.
