This neuroinfection is rare in pregnant women. A more severe encephalomyelitic form of the disease, resulting in lasting consequences, occurred in the patient even though she had recently undergone a proper vaccination. In the course of 11-month observation, her newborn showed no symptoms of the disease nor psychomotor developmental disorders.
