A gingival biopsy confirmed the diagnosis as pemphigus vulgaris. Despite medication with systemic corticosteroids and mycophenolate mofetil, desquamative gingivitis persisted. Adjunct treatment with rituximab was therefore introduced. Regular follow-ups revealed no inflammatory gingival changes even 6 years later.
