{Abstract}: Purely prepontine arachnoid cysts not extending into the suprasellar region in neonates are rare. Herein, we report a purely prepontine arachnoid cyst in a neonate which caused central apnea and was successfully treated with microscopic cyst fenestration and C1 laminectomy.
