An 81-year-old male patient showed symptoms with cough, sputum, and fever for 3 days. Community-acquired pneumonia was diagnosed firstly. After anti-infection treatment, the patient was still in fever. Chest radiography showed pleural effusion, closed thoracic drainage was performed and the reddish-brown fluid was drained out. The second-generation sequencing was performed on pleural fluid and Pasteurella multocida was detected. Pasteurella multocida has strict requirements for growth conditions and it difficult to cultivate. The application of second-generation sequencing is helpful to diagnose the pathogen rapidly.
多杀巴斯德菌脓胸少见,容易被漏诊。1例81岁患者因“咳嗽、咳痰、发热3 d”入院,诊断为“社区获得性肺炎”,经抗感染治疗后仍发热,胸X射线摄影检查提示胸腔积液,行胸腔闭式引流,引流出红褐色液体,将胸腔积液行二代测序,检测出多杀巴斯德菌。多杀巴斯德菌对生长条件要求比较严格,是一种难以培养的细菌,而二代测序的应用有助于快速诊断病原体。.
