The aim of this article is to raise awareness on the GDPR, and to provide an easy guideline to steer free from legal problems at the time of drafting papers, presenting lectures and sharing personal data and visual media in particular. To do so, we have analysed the most common situations where personal data, and above all visual media, can be collected, giving clear-cut answers and recommendations for all the scenarios.
