{Abstract}: A successful return to functional use following joint injuries of the hand can be obtained by proper evaluation and treatment. Knowledge of injury, proper splinting, and treatment of modalities used are of utmost importance. An open channel of communication with the patient and hand surgeon will assist in establishing realistic goals.
