Data were collected on patient satisfaction, analgesic consumption, side effects, and complications. Ropivacaine as a sole agent in paravertebral blocks has a clinical duration of up to 6 hours. The addition of epinephrine, clonidine, and dexamethasone prolonged the clinical duration considerably.
