Lipid nanoparticles represent one of the most widely used nanoparticle-based delivery systems for in vitro and in vivo applications, especially for the delivery of ribonucleic acid (RNA). In this chapter, a simple bulk mixing method for the encapsulation of RNA is described along with characterization techniques for measuring encapsulation efficiency and nanoparticle physicochemical properties.
