%X Although the terms "single ventricle" and "univentricular heart" are frequently used to describe a variety of complex congenital heart defects, in fact, nearly all hearts have two ventricles, although one of the two may be too small to be functional. A better term for these hearts would therefore be "functional single ventricle."
