%X We examine management practices of tinea capitis at 2 US academic centers. The majority of providers treated tinea capitis with the oral antifungal agent griseofulvin and did not obtain a fungal culture. We recommend newer antifungal treatments such as terbinafine and fluconazole and obtaining a fungal culture for effective treatment.
